There are times when I feel like this argument is counter-productive. Reducing the term "Nazi" to meaning "massacre" or "mass murder" makes them into comic book villains--the essence of why they're funny in the first place.
On the flip-side, I actually feel that there's something appropriate about bad Nazi jokes. They strip that movement--and it's remnants--of the veneer of dignity that can become associated with Facism and the like.
(Which isn't to say you're wrong. The first reason Nazi jokes are in poor taste is indeed because those stories are not too far removed from the present. I certainly don't scoff at anyone's right to be offended over the topic.)
Still too soon. All in all, by far the biggest massacres since Genghis Khan. Nobody's very sensitive about Genghis Khan any more, so give it 800 years or whatever.
In the meantime, will it absolutely kill you (ahem) not to make fun of just one little instance of millions and millions of dead people? I'd say that still leaves the available scope for humour fairly broad.
I read this thrice and I don't understand... Which swastika?
And did you know it's actually a symbol of luck? That's funny to me.
What do you mean by that?
I believe it is NEIN!!!!!
But wow, people are so sensitive with that thing, I don't understand, is political correctness so important? The media always protray the nazi as pure evil, but come on, it's not like they were the first, or the last, to kill a huge number of people without any reason? Just the most pointed at.
Just no!
Even Hitler doesn't approve this manga
yea , i don't know about other people , but the german military swastika makes me sick in any medium used ,but even more so when used for comic relief .
But maybe it's just the Nazis.
well ok then
A story about stories!!!
