I regret reading this.
He's been on a massive downslope since halfway through cage of eden. He's never been the same since that series go the axe
Just read the first chapter, more rape, murder, and titties. I think he's altogether given up trying to be a mystery author. The scanlation notes were fantastic though. I'm honestly gonna read it simply to laugh at the translators notes.
Author started new manga titled Satanophany
Im Dal Young does have ability I think as he can create interesting stories and characters, but unfortunately he seems to have some personal issues or something that end up ruining all of his works. So his works aren't bad as in lack of skill, more like bad as in really messed up.
Thank god someone who also hates Im Dal Young's work. I thought something was wrong with me with everyone liking his garbage.
no changes or epilogue in the last volume
iirc they sell an extended version with extra art. maybe there's something there.
I'm still stuck on how UD's right hand lady is not in a cell. She was accomplice to hundreds of murders and who knows how many she did herself. Not only is it inconceivable they cooperated with her, but entirely baffling that she wasn't locked in a box and dropped off a cliff somewhere for everything she's done.
So I just reached chapter 40 and for now it can be summed up as
To be quite honest, this series was nonsensical, but compared to Cage of Eden (I know, low bar) it was wrapped up well.
We know what became of all characters, Koh's power was explained, world was saved for the time being. It wasn't a random implosion like the author's best-known work.
I would totally translate a spin-off featuring Tooru as MC, too.
But I'm not sure I'd invest effort on a brand-new project by Yamada Yoshinobu. As I said in a previous post, his three strengths (clever premises, beautiful art and some talent for engaging MCs and male characters) are more than offset by the weaknesses (poor female characters, lack of care for consistency, lazy development). His series are interesting in the first half, afterwards he seems to lose interest in them and keeps them going with fanservice and Arse Pulls till they are axed or reach open endings.
Anyway, I had fun doing this. It was amusing nonsense, as opposed to the depressing nonsense that marked the demise of my other recently-finished project, Destroy and Revolution.
Well, see you people around.
Well shit... could've at least let Koh get laid, or a kiss or something???
This was one of the shortest chapters too, if not the shortest.
This one had potential, even with the pileup of plotholes.
Eh, I guess it wasn't the worst thing. My only real gripe is that pimpin Touru didn't get enough time to shine in this series. At least he lived, though. He can find another city to go be pimp in.
Whelp I followed this trainwreck to the end and I only slightly regret it. Funny thing is just as he ends it things get interesting, the cast is bigger and slightly more diverse and koh seems genuinely useful. At this very point I would continue to read it. Well at the very least he didn't kill characters off for the hell of it and Tooru lived, that alone makes it a better ending than Cage of Eden.
thanks KIKE, Substitute Scans and Death Toll Scanlations for your work
Bleach. Also, the author previous manga, Cage of Eden.
all 3 for the same reason.
This is terrible. I'm adding this guy to my list of mangakas to avoid, which really only is him and IDY. I don't think he's worse than IDY, but he's in his league.
That was the worst ending I've ever seen so rushed.
Abrupt ending with a rushed conclusion, and numerous plot holes still left answered? Yup this is Cage of Eden all over again. :/
gave him the benefit of the doubt despite how Cage of Eden ended, I couldn't have been more wrong.. oh well, guilty pleasure always wins
Can you even count this as an ending? Jesus christ.
Oh well, once a guilty pleasure will always be a guilty pleasure.
A guilty pleasure from start to finish. a bad story with enough of half decent elements to keep people reading it to the end.
Anyone remember back when I compared this to The Wizard of Oz? Yeah, guess who just woke up in bed from a coma. And you were there, and you were there, and YOU were there. Now that Fuji-dorthy is back in Tokyansas all is right with the world.
Everything about this series was a train wreck.
