Wow, this is really surprising and rather heartbreaking. Thanks for all the hard work throughout the years Grumpy!

I have been a lurker since Batoto launched (I think I used primarily MangaToshokan before then) and followed The Company as well for Kubera and Zippy Ziggy, so it's pretty disappointing to see Batoto go down. However, being on call every day for 7 years is most definitely not something sustainable and healthy for an individual and if nothing else I am glad you have decided to stop putting yourself through the stress. This website has most definitely had a long lasting impact on my life through the manga I've discovered and read, as well as the thoughtful and entertaining community comments I've sifted through. I am sure it has been the same for many other people who have learned of new manga and connected with a community they would not have otherwise. I hope you can rest assured as you hang up your mantle that you've done a tremendous service for and had a significant impact on the lives of manga fans all over the world. Whether or not a new a site is made, Batoto will always hold a fond place within my heart. Thanks again to Grumpy, staff, the scanlators, the community, and everyone else I missed for making this a most beautiful corner of the internet.

On the note of some form of a reincarnated version of Batoto, I do hope the vision can continue with other staff members and would be more than willing to donate what I can to help, whether monetary or in services (I am a software developer by trade, although I don't have experience with this type of website, I do have some time on my hands).
