In Topic: A Similar Read to Dorohedoro

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, unfortunately I've already read everything you had listed 101010, though GUNMM and Gantz are two old favorites (same with Black Lagoon). I also significantly preferred the manga of Shiki to the anime, I thought the striking art style was better suited to stills.

I agree exactly Nolzi, Dorohedoro was such an excellent example of " "mature" " storytelling and deep characters. If you haven't read Keyman you definitely should, it's by far the closest thing to Dorohedoro that I've read, and if you're just looking for strong storytelling in general you should check out anything by Kitoh Moriho, Ashinano Hitoshi, or Mizukami Satoshi. Though Satoshi might be a bit too fantasy or black/white I still think he writes really interesting characters and conflicts. Anyway, I'll be sure to to check out Freaks' Squeele and get back to you on it this week.

I really enjoyed the story telling, large cast, diversity of character, setting, and the lack of black and white morality as well as the art style. Thanks for the suggestions, its nice to have a list all queued up, though I am currently keeping up with Keyman already, it really is a great series.

Feels very 'finally'. Makes me a little sad we don't get to see a resolution to the after-resolution of Monogatari Second Season anytime soon, but I suppose I could just go read it. The main thing that pleased me though was the return to Bakemonogatari-style for the last arc. Cuz even if I enjoyed Nise and early Second Season I'd definitely been missing the two episode long conversations.

I've been really digging World Conquest Zvezda Plot. And the last arc of Monogatari Second Season got me incredibly pumped for the next iteration. I totally see where OP is coming from though, as both series I mentioned, as well as others that I cared less for that have come out recently, could be described as "crappy harems or sister/brother complex stories" with a good deal of validity.. Ah well Ep 3 of World Conquest was brilliant so idc. XP
