there are plenty in which mc is a fast learner but copy ability one is rather lacking . Kakashi was the first one whom i remember who used to copy stuff but well not an MC , Try shounen mangas , plenty of them have characters growing fast like god of high school , hsdk , kurogane, magi , d gray man , legend of maian , ueki , reborn, kenshin , etc etc most shounen mcs become stronger really fast but copying skills , can't remember any
