I don't exactly know what you mean by badass, but have you tried other Shounen Jump? (Beelzebub, enigma, Gintama, Hunter X Hunter, [and then there are tons more which are all things that don't involve as much action.

Cage of Eden -Survival in a Lord of the Flies sort of thing, but its more about fighting against nature- is one of my faves, but it also isn't...

Defense Devil -A Devil who's a defense lawyer... hahah self-explanitory- is also really cool, but i think that in the middle of it the plot's a bit unsatisfying, but the end is worth it

Btooom! -Just Plain awesomeness... hahah- Its seinen not shounen, but i think its pretty badass....

Not to mention: Arago, Blood Lad, Blood Soul, Cerberus, Gamble Fish, GTO, HOTD, Ultimo, Liar Game, Tenjou Tenge (Definatley for you if you want a Massive Brawl Set in Highschool with Dudes that have crazy hair and crazy chicks, Mirai Nikki....

So yeah, tell me if you find any of these manga particularily interesting and ill see if i can come up with more based on which one you liked <
