Alita (Gally) from GUNNM / Battle Angel Alita - I like strong female characters like her. And, of course, Gintoki from Gintama. I love his crazy personality, he always makes me laugh (but he's kinda cool when he's serious ^^)

oh yeah and i think that House of Five Leaves (Sarai-ya Goyo) is pretty good
some people say its really boring...and the art is kinda creepy in a way but I guess that's what makes it interesting and different to other animes

I've watched just 3 episodes of Saraiya Goyo, but I think it's pretty good. And I started to watch it because of this "creepy", unusual and beautiful art ^^

From ongoing series I'm watching just SAO and Natsuyuki Rendezvous. SAO is pretty good for me, I even started to read light novel. Now I look forward for 9 episode ^^
Natsuyuki Rendezvous is my first josei anime and I'm really surprised. I didn't expect it will be so good. And i love the opening ^^

Wolf's Rain

I love this series. I've watched about 4 times... Definitely one of my favourites and, of course, worth watching.
I recommend also:
Baccano! - really interesting story
Gintama - great comedy and parody, crazy characters and pretty good fights
Slayers - nice fantasy and comedy, a bit old but still good ^^

My first anime was Mononoke Hime and it's still one of my favourites... I watched it on TV 'cause my brother recommended it. Now when I think of it, I want to watch it again ^^
