i figure i should try my hand at some poetry before i go to bed so here i go, oh some words you might not know: crossbar= horizontal bar on a goal, FOGO= face off go off [the field]:
Playoffs
its the final curtain on our lacrosse careers, our last chance and nobody's gonna slack
we'll remember the feeling, getting pumped and prepped when we're the underdog
the deep bond we share, knowing when I'm in front of the goal my bros got my back
we have no respect towards us, that cocky team thinks they get by with just a jog
when the face off starts it's a battle, pushing harder for the goal of that head start
with the final clamp, our man gets it out and we respect his effort by possessing the ball
setting picks and finding space, the shot rips corner like a bulls eye with a dart
screaming and cheering, everybody's standing proud and tall
halftime rolls around and we have double their score, so the cocky team starts getting a little mad
getting put to shame by this trash is just impossible for them, thinking this is just a bad dream
so the defender goons are up to no good schemin', thinkin' up something bad
using their sticks like clubs and hitting after the whistle, seems like refs are siding with their team
score tied 10 all but no side's givin' up, no side is willing to lose this final encounter
still taking out our players with no remorse, but our main man wont have it
he lashes out screaming at the refs, instigating a fight with the defender
now the lead scorer's out and the FOGO is broken, things are lookin' down
11 seconds left, we need to make this play happen or our chances are dashed
the play goes off without a hitch, but we don't finish it and it hits the cross bar
it flies into my stick, so much races through my head, but then I aim low corner before I'm smashed
with no angle I somehow make it and beat our rivals, never thought we'd make it this far
