#372229 Why are yaoi and shounen-ai manga so popular?

I have watched some yaoi before despite being a guy and didn't hate it, I think the start of title was Sekai Ichi? The thing is that it had great writing and comedy (judging from the first ep) so I didn't mind the yaoi. I think I may enjoy a romance if it's good, but I usually don't read or watch things based solely on romance. I don't mind some light-hearted yaoi jokes either, like the may butler who falls for Hayate in Hayate no Gotoku. If do think that both yaoi and yuri (hate to bring that back into the topic) have the capacity to be great romance, in particular I like the work of Morinaga Milk-sensei. Her work "Girlfriends" is what taught me yuri doesn't have to be smut. :)
