[Lust no Fansub] are looking for editors and cleaners

09 August 2015 - 09:39 AM

Hi,

it's me again :) .

A small introduction of our group (for those who don't know):

The group consists of a Spanish and a English division. The Spanish division was the origins of the group.

I came in for the English division for which I am in charge of. In other words their leader.

As for the English projects:

Kurogane Hime (2 of 4 volumes released, soon to be concluded, work is in progress)

Dance in the vampire bund 2 - Scarlet Order (3 of 4 volumes released, soon to be concluded)

Wild Pitch (currently on hold, taken from my previous group, restarted with chapter 10-12 as re-release due to massive errors (partly not here uploaded))

Currently we are looking for editors and/or cleaners (can be single entities or a two-in-one entity) as our editor is totally overloaded.

Honestly, I might not be the person with the most time, which is why sometimes releases tend to be stalled for a few weeks (months), but when I do have the time I burst out translations.

Due to that our editor and cleaner (one entity!) now has a pile of approximately 550 pages (ca. 180 pages currently in the proofreading process) to clean and edit (ca. 170 pages were released a few days ago).

Next to the fact that he's doing work for the Spanish division too.

Just as a side note, I worked my butt of last year for DitVb - Sledge Hammer and translated two volumes plus two chapters in less than 20 days after work with all the proofreading process, but due to the overload (approx 400 pages) for our cleaner/editor it took ages to get the releases out.

So, in summary: it's not my fault alone when releases seem to be stalled. Though, I might be the reason why in one or another case :P

We have the following simple requirements:

* Experience

     -> We would like to see references of projects the applicant has worked on

* Flexibility

     -> the applicant will work for the Spanish and for the English divisions. No worries, we have some mediator. So no Spanish skills required

     -> as said before, my time constraints are severe due to my job. But as you will be working for the Spanish people as well you should have less idle-time than expected

* Dropbox or google drive account

     -> we mainly use a dropbox account to exchange work and favor it. However, if you can't access DB for any reason we will put the pieces you have to work on into a google driver folder.

* Reliability

     -> Don't tell us you can do the job and then go "missing in action" without saying a word.

* Patience and time

     -> We might not give you tasks daily and you might have some idle time. But at least check our staff forum or your private messages at least once or twice a week to see if tasks are due.

As words are one point, deeds are the other. Please download the following zip file.

Editor test

It's a simple skill-test which we will evaluate for final acceptance. The contained scanned pages are from our personal archive, so you won't find them (in that form) anywhere else.

So, what do you have to do to apply?

* Post in the topic that you want to apply.

   -> state your field of interest: cleaner, editor, both

   -> don't forget your references.

* Clean the pages as you see fit

   -> should be no big task even for a sole editor. It's just a fall-back in case a pure cleaner is (heavily) occupied.

* I've put some split-pages into the archive. Join them as best as you can. (applies for all applicants)

* Some folder contain a word-document

   -> If you're not solely applying as a cleaner then you know what ought to be done (use appropriate fonts)

* Upload a zip-file containing your results to any free sharehoster. Send me a PM with the link.

Well, that's a lot! :) If you have any further questions post them and I try to answer as fast as possible.

Thanks a lot for reading!

Have a nice rest of the weekend :D

  Kind regards,
