#1744626 Simple Poetry

Posted by riverkingyuwa on 20 April 2016 - 02:59 AM

@Zero King

I can understand the pessimism in your poetry, and yeah it's all around us now -- the rat race. Why must everyone be conformed to the dictates of our society, like of education, work, and etc. That I can see, yet I don't presume that it's really what you want to say. The content is heavy so I might read them little by little, one at a time or I might drown in it. :)

Oh, let me share one of mine :)

Ignored

There are times that are quiet and slow

And when it should be peaceful, I'm quite restless

I've check the TV, but there's Nothing to see

And stuff from the internet aren't good enough

How I miss those moments I'm working on something

Yet how I cursed when I was on it

Thinking about it, there's some unfinished work

Sadly, I could only wish I'm motivated enough

I came to have a little chat, to get my motivation up,

But you ignored me, just to drown in this deafening silence

#1744624 What superpower do you ALREADY have?

Last time I posted I said I can create and destroy worlds.

Well, another power this writer has is to look into different point of views  :batoto_028:

How is it like to be a teenage girl, a rocket scientist, a general, and etc. It's fun, but mentally draining as well this power is.

I myself am hooked to these kind of stories. Yup, I'd also read that manga NG.

Of reincarnation stories, I think one of the most famous ones would be Mushoku Tensei with its 20+ volumes. It originally is a light novel but now has a manga version. But if you really are hooked into these kind of stories, I suggest you read light novels. There is a thread about reincarnation stories in the light novels section of the boards. I recommend you pay it a visit.

The following are my suggestions:
Mushoku Tensei (Light novel/Manga)
Isekai Tensei Soudouki (Light Novel/Manga, though I've only seen the manga version of it. A bit promising, I'd like to see more, but currently it has only 5 chapter translated)
World Teacher (Light novel)
Drifters (manga)
Treads of Time (manhua, I strongly recommend)
Harukana Machi-e (Manga, age regression, somewhat about past life. Wonderful, nothing else could be said.)
Shut Hell (manga, of possession of a person who lived in Genghis Khan's time)
Reformat: Adventures of a Battle Academic in a Primitive Land (e-novel, written by yours truly. Click my signature for the link.)

I, as the River King, have the ability to create and destroy worlds, at least in the stories I write.

#1606215 Hello from the River Kingdom

Welcome. Is the smart-watch going to be the new wave of mobile development or is it just a passing fad?

Hi! Thanks for noticing this little post of mine. :D

Well, as a tech enthusiast, I believe that it's a passing fad, unless they do something about the power consumption, which is only one of the problems that prevents me from getting one. Aside from that, it would really be hard to convince people, including myself, to wear those cheap looking plastic gadgets, unless they'd want to be labeled geek. I won't mind being called a geek, but not for this thing. I'd rather wear my Timex.

Another flaw, it's redundant. Did you notice how rare it is to see a person carrying both smartphones and tablets? That's because their functions overlap. Most people are content just having one.

In addition, it cannot stand on its own. Nowadays you'd notice that some of these tech savvy teens who grew up using these kinds of gadgets aren't into wearing watches. That's because they don't need too. They'd just have to pull the phone out of their pocket to look at a time, just like a pocket watch. Based on that logic, if they'd wear a smart-watch, they'd rather wear something that would stand on its own, yet these things won't ever deliver that.

Furthermore, considering how small the area of the wrist is, it's a nightmare to operate such a device, let alone the difficulty of looking into a small screen. Imagine squinting your eyes all the time just to see the small things displayed on it.

Lastly, doing things on it would make one look stupid. Can you imagine how you would look like using the said devices on your wrist? Just a peek to check time would be alright, but imagine hours of usage, holding your arm out. I couldn't even imagine a person do that for more than 10 minutes.

So, there you have it. But you know, no matter how heavy the logical evidence against it, it's still up to you if you'd like one of those. As for me, this is just a marketing ploy created by those greedy bunch in their corporate offices. I know that these things don't sell very well. If you want to prove it for yourself, go ask your neighbor if they have one. And even the apple smart-watch would just sell for once, just for its name and for the gimmick, but I believe that it won't last very long.

Hello! My nickname's Yuwa, an amateur writer, tech enthusiast, future teacher, English tutor, manga/anime/light-novel fanatic, and what have you.

First, as an amateur writer, I write online on my blog and Wattpad. Check out the sig if you're interested.

Second, as a tech enthusiast, I started tinkering with personal computers 11 years ago, when I was in high school. I review gadgets such as smartphones, mp3 players, headphones, laptops, tablets, pcs, and whatnot.

Third, I got into education because our country needs good teachers. Hopefully I'd be joining them soon. But hey, I'm no saint, I'm doing this for myself for self fulfillment.

Lastly, I have been an anime fanatic since grade school. Those JRPGs are responsible for getting me into it and into writing a story.

Lately, those other sites that offers free manga online have slowed down, and not to mention, there are a lot of ads on them; very annoying. Not that I recently got into bato.to, as I've been reading manga on this site for quite a while now. I love the high quality images this site has, and the fact that they do not rip off the translators and the authors like the other sites do.

Aside from the rant, what should I say? Be easy on me? Nope, I'm in your care. :)
