Trying to remember manga involving youkai and ghosts

So like the title says I am trying to remember a certain manga where youkai and ghosts are involved. In an early chapter there was a mini arc involving a girl who had been bound to a painting and it was sucking the life out of her. I believe something about her dead father's spirit becoming over protective? Can someone help me?

Girls as living armor?

I am not sure if this actually exists or not but years ago i could swear i read/watched a thing where the girl could fuse with the main character as a living armor of sorts. Could someone help me possibly figure out what exactly it is i am talking about?
