you should continue reading he gets real badass in later of the series and he learns how to fly on a surfboard of magic

I'd Strongly De-Recommend Patrick Rothfuss' works. The Technical aspects are average, but by god..The Story! It was as if a 13 year-old wanted a self-insert mary sue shoved into our faces. The Protagonist is always right and all/the Villains are pathetically vindictive,poor cut-out characters just jealous of the MC's awesomeness.
