plus if they expect a more elaborate reply and get a single emoticon that everyone can interpret differently, it may be disappointing or taken as a sign of not taking them seriously
depends on the context and the person you're talking to (like same gestures may mean different things in different cultures)

But Kokai i had plenty of alcohol to get piss drunk, but i don't do that, just like to sit back with a good buzz, read manga, and relax. When did i throw a fit?? when did i judge or make negative comments in the manner you did?? Because i made some observation, which in you lack of a denial i assume are true hmmm??

I did something similar. I got myself wasted and then anime'd my Saturday away. Though I think I slept more than I watched TV. Anyway, the day was a disaster and that's what counts.
