#1324121 what's the story of your pet?

i got this really sweet little cat who had somehow been completely traumatized before she finally ended up with me, nearly three years ago. i think she might have been around four months old, and had already travelled between too many homes. all she did for an entire week, was sit in a corner, shivering whenever people walked past. until, finally she started to trust my good intentions, and i heard that first loud "meow" from a little kitten who didn't think i'd given her enough treats.

it didn't take long before she started to adore my daughter, possibly even more than i do. she'd run out to meet her when the girl got home from school, faster and happier than any dog i've ever seen. even when the cat had managed to get some stomach infection and had just gotten a shot of really strong antibiotics, she still tried to run out to meet my daughter. poor little cat was so dizzy she fell and slid way off when trying to round a corner, so i just had to pick her up and carry her outside to meet the girl.

as the cat grew up. she started to love and feel very protective of kids, while never letting go of her distrust towards adults. my youngest brother (an adult in body, even if not in mind) was once chasing my daughter around. his way of playing got a little too violent for the cat to like, and when my daughter finally started screaming, the cat threw herself at the boy's leg and bit and scratched all that she could. there have been other times as well, when she ran to upon hearing a child screaming, just to check that any adults weren't torturing them or anything.

loveliest cat ever. i'll never need a dog.
