Hey, thanks I can access my account again

Is my Account suddenly disappearing and all of my previous post in the forums turned into a Guest post has something to do with this?

If so, did my old account (And the follows) got deleted?

I'm still logged in on my old account with Firefox but since you removed the FB login and with the issues surrounding it, I'm screwed if I get logged out. And I can't login elsewhere.

You can register again without facebook (different email) and thus avoiding facebook entirely. You can additionally request for accounts to be merged to your new user...

 

Why the heck do you guys even offer facebook login (clever people don't have a facebook-account anyways) if it causes trouble?

And the users seem to have no fear that their facebook login-data may be stolen...(or given away to the NSA/FBI/CIA since facebook aside from Google and Microsoft cooperates unrestricted with the American espionage services).

Because it didn't have issues to begin with. Facebook changing their API over and over and over... etc causes problems. Thus, Batoto stopped offering the Facebook logins.

 

Also, using a Facebook/Google/somethingelse "login" basically lets you access a site without giving it your email/other personal data (not to mention making it easier as well).

 

And who is to say Batoto is NSA free? Just because Grumpy doesn't give them access to his servers doesn't mean that they don't listen to the connections between you and Batoto's servers. Passwords are sent in plain text over the network and encrypted upon reaching the server, so any type of MitM attack could compromise you. (This isn't restricted to Batoto: any site that doesn't use SSL [And even those that do, if the hackers are willing to take their time in doing it] is vulnerable to it.)

NOTE: this type of worry is completely bypassed if you use something like Facebook Connect/Google Login/etc as they authenticate you without sending anything private

 

So yeah. Just saying ^.^

 

There is a version of those type of authentication things that is NSA free, operated by Mozilla called "Persona".
