As we all know, manga/manhwa authors have very stressful lives because of deadlines, wrist issues, sleepless nights. SIU has complained about his wrist since very early in S1. And you want to let him continue on like that? It might be better if he is forced to hire professional artists in his stead, and he can focus on the story he loves to make. Would his operation being a complete and utter failure really be a bad thing?

But... he is supposed to BE a professional artist. He already has two assistants; I really think he just needs surgery and a recovery period. But I don't know him personally, so idk.

So now SIU is taking only a 6 weeks break. Did he already get his operation before? If so, how long was his break when he did? I thought he was now about to take a huge break to get his operation and all, he's still constantly "complaining" about his wrist. I was mentally prepared to let him get operated and have a 4-5 months break or something.. lol.

That's really not enough time to recover and rehab an operated wrist. I would reasonably expect SIU to be gone for a much longer span. Whatever he needs to get himself well, I damned well hope.

If you look it up, there's basically two types of wrist surgeries, and some types don't take too long to recover from.

Given SIU's profession, I'd wager he has the carpel tunnel-like surgery coming up, not the bone fracture type.

My mom had carpel tunnel surgery and in 2-3 weeks her arm was like new

I'm thinking if he really takes it easy for a full 6 weeks, his wrist should be pretty good. Only problem being that he likes to push himself and wants to come back even sooner. :c

The pain will just come back even with a good bit of "rest" Hell, I still get wrist pains even though I gave up drawing with a mouse & other things relating to my right arm 2 years ago....

I think he will extend the period. He seems to need to learn to balance his work with the condition of his body. Not easy for a man of passion who obviously has a lot of passion for his series but I wish him all the best.
