[Katzen]

I'll only post the recent ones here most of my poetry are on the impromptu thread (or here for your convenience) though i decided to make my own thread considering many of what i write aren't exactly "impromptu" haha. Please enjoy!

The sun shines bright across my face
in this noontime summer's day
You toss and turn in your bed in slumber
from thousands of miles away

Do you dream of me, love
like the waves dream of the shore
Does your thoughts ever touch the surface
or have i sunk to the ocean floor

The pain is almost unbearable, it's true
I'm in need, in want of your caress
this thorny garden that i am in
envelopes my mind and heart in darkness

but Love, the seeds of light you see in me
are mere reflections on me by you
like a bright moon above the glassy waters
who's beauty only seen by a few

You, who shines with blinding ardour
what do you see in this abyss
there is nothing but darkness, pain and tears
of light and joy, i have been amiss

Love, you bring the light that shines on to me
like stars dotting the evening skies
distant and small they all seem to be
but fiery and beautiful in my eyes

In your eyes, love, i see it all
the first drop of rain on thirsty ground
a gust of wind on a quiet day
the sparkle i've lost, now found

And love, if you please, think of me
that our hearts have intertwined
for there is nothing more joyous in this life
than to know i'm truly yours and you are mine.

Lying in this small garden, alone

smothered in cold grass

you're out there somewhere, my dear

I love you, I love you, do you think of me

like I think of you?

Silence deafening, maddening

sinking in the depths of my mind

the thorns turn into monsters, my dear

Where are you? Where are you, do you think of me

like i think of you?

The moonlight shines above me, glowing

a spotlight saving me from sorrow

the thorns, my dear, do you see them?

The monster, the monster, do you see that it's me

I am the monster

i don't consider my works great, but they're expressions of my feelings so all is well

Your eyes shine bright at the mention of her name

But I thought you're mine, my dear

This is all for you and her, isn't it?

And none of your feelings are truely mine

Do i need to let you go now like you did to me?

I got too close and now i'm burned

The memory of bells seem familiar

Yet you can't see nor feel the pain i'm in

You're not the same anymore, I can see

I can feel the cracks running through

We can keep pretending it's fine

But that would, again, be only for you

And her.

I say, to ashes, my dear.

You're not the same

So let me go.

i remember,
someone said that every star
stands for a person in our lives.
if that is true,
then my dear, every burning
and exploding star in my universe
stands for you.

(this poem is dedicated to my boyfriend)

i was in Portugal the past three days and spending some time at Cais da Ribiera put me in the mood for writing poetry. It certainly opened some creative gutters in my head XD

As you held me in your arms that night

The noise of reality starts tearing us apart

Remember that time you said "I won't let you go."

The scent of your skin on mine tells me so

Remember that time I said "We can't ever be."

And you called me a liar for something I can't foresee

It's true, I'm afraid you're just another fault in a pile

And when it topples over, will you stay awhile?

Your arms tonight keep me safe and sane

At least until dawn breaks, these memories remain

Though I belong to someone else, and you the same

We are just two sad fools in this silly game

06 - Farewell To A Smile

I'd sit in front of my computer like nothing happened

and sleep at a comfortably early time

hoping not to notice

these sides of me

that i didn't want

you to see.

I'll go out to trips with friends like nothing happened

and maybe treat my eyes to lovely places

pretending not to notice

these bad sides of me

that shakes wildly

without you.

I can't hide that you took my breathe away, when I saw you standing there

Leg's crossed, arms on your sides, exuding a rare kind of beauty

I won't deny that I longed to touch your face and feel yours lips on mine

Breatheless kisses, raw and passionate, almost like it burned and stung

I couldn't stop looking at you with my empty eyes, the way you move around me

Your sighs, the heaving of your chest, the way your eyelashes curl perfectly

I don't think I can push you away for long, my lips are at a loss for words

Heartbeat ringing in my ears, voice breaking off, heads turning away

I don't doubt that you took my breathe away, when I saw you standing there that first time I realized how you made my heart flutter.

As each tear drop falls down my eyes

My lips seek the warmth of your lips

My skin burns and calls out to you

Yet your answer doesn't come to me

I didn't tell you how I feel, I couldn't

My heart aches with all the bruises

Your words hit me square on the chest

Yet you don't seem to realize this

I could pretend to be happy, I could try

Why do these memories keep coming up?

Everything seemed so good, so happy

But I want to stop hurting and forget you now

I'm not brave enough to be myself

In a world where you and I are apart

And I know it's not going to be easy for me

But I want to erase everything and forget you now

Your smile, that used to send my heart to the skies

Are now like cuts scattered all over my memories

I wish I could easily erase you from my mind

Like you have so easily removed me from yours

Though sometimes, and quite rarely, I don't.

Because as much as the pain of everything

another excellent poem. I like how this one not only sounds so deep and meaningful but it also is written artistically. This one would still be awesome if you were listening to someone read it, but it is made even better by the way the words form on the page to seem to fit the feelings that are portrayed in that line.

thank you! i try to write based on how i feel, and experiences too. i find that writing based on something we&amp;amp;amp;#39;ve truly felt is more fluid than something forced. i'm glad you like it

10 - Strangers

I wish time could stop right this moment

or make today, tomorrow

and perhaps forever too

flow by

in and between us

so we won't have to say goodbye.

I wish everything that had just happened

untangled itself from us

and when I open my eyes

you'd still be there

shifting your head

though not looking at me at all.

But it doesn't go that way

no

life doesn't go the way we want to.

Then I'll just wish for this farewell to flow

to be easy, not knowing how painful it is.

And we'll forget everything

as time passes,

and we'll do as we always did.

What am I going to do

with all these memories of you?

scattered all over my mind

like a shower of tears

these tears, do they fall down

your eyes as well?

Drop

by

drop

and then they just spill down

but do I cry because I lost you

or because I now believe I had

nothing

to begin with?

Even as I cry and shake off

the dust of you that has taken

over my existence

I have nothing left to be sad about.

Even as I turn off the lights and sleep

your memories come back

drenching my heart with tears

once again.
