.....this may sound bad but I hope there's a few scanlation group who doesn't give a shit and keeps doing what they do.

Line must know just how horrible their translations are and how much of an ass they're being.

It feels like Naver is trying to force us to read their shitty translations by making all scanlation groups drop it.

well, that's obvious. If they don't do this, who would real their chapters? All the new readers of kubera for example would read the first chapters and then, after discovering the existence of the company and such, they would all flock away never to be seen a second time.

 

It's not like we can blame them for doing that

Then they should change their translators and proofreaders completely. Then maybe, just maybe people will read theirs.

I agree about the translators part. (I think that just increasing their numbers would be fine)

Honestly, all this naver hate is becoming quite irritating to read. And please remember, I'm in the exact same boat as you all.

 

Actually after frankfurt, it was obvious (for me at least) that sooner or later the company would have to take down their chapters. I remember that back then everyone was so excited XD I wonder why no one expected something like this

But, I did hold out hope that they'd improve the quality a lot. Well, at least the fontage isn't as eyebleedingly horrible.

the only ones I can blame are the readers who didn't recognize Kubera's worth, and so it didn't enter in the "up to date category"

Whoa, the better version of The Company's first 14 chapters just got uploaded on Mangafox. I must say, I'm kind of happy about that (I mean, they were already stealing anyway, might as well have the better version). I wonder if other sites can update their version too?

Is there any reason in particular that stopps Naver from using good quality translation products that translation groups translated thus far? Legal concerns? Technical issues? Standards that they want to apply to their products? Professionalism? Pride? Or something different? Or did they just not think about it to begin with? Does anyone knows anything about this issue?

Legal reasons, copyright reasons (who owns the translations), pride reasons, control over product output/quality (the key word is control), yeah.

 

They preferred to just do everything themselves rather than deal with potential complications. For example, if down the line, scanlators start whining about pay and such, it may get complicated for them. Now, corporate / scanlator cooperation isn't impossible, we've seem that with Trace 2, but they probably wanted to avoid dealing with potential complications.

 

That said, the translations for the latest chapter were much better. If they keep this up, I can accept this level. Though I'm still sad it's behind by so much. xD
