Okay... so.. Yuta... what is he? >___>

Is he half sura (garuda) and half sura (chaos)? Or is he half sura (garuda) and half god (taraka?)?

I am so thoroughly confused on this whole thing now..

Well, the answer to your question will be partially explained in Chapter 99, when Asha will explain the origins of the Taraka clan. Unfortunately my Google Translate skills were not enough to know exactly what she was saying, but I guess we'll have Chapter 99 before the end of this week? :D

What we do know is:
  • Yuta is the son of the Primeval Goddess of Chaos, Kali, and the son of Garuda, the King of the Garuda clan.
  • However, Kali is also the creator of the Taraka clan. She created it somehow in a forbidden way.
  • In his blog profile, Yuta is listed as a Rakshasa: Half Garuda clan, and Half Taraka clan. So he seems to be 100% Sura, not God.
The Primeval Gods created the whole Universe and all the races, so you could say they aren't strictly the same as normal "Gods", even though they are classified as such. The other Gods must obey them to a point, but apparently the other Gods consider the Primeval Gods as outsiders.

Currygom's blog entry on Gods also explains that Gods can't freely reproduce to create new Gods: they can only do so if there are new jurisdictions to preside over (each God is attached to a jurisdiction. Agni presides over Fire, for example), so the number of Gods increases very slowly. But, as far as we can tell, Yuta does not preside over a jurisdiction. He also doesn't seem to be immortal. Overall, you could say that Kali must have used very peculiar methods to create Yuta, only possible because she was a Primeval God and not a normal God.

@Pride - What Mizura said is correct but the only mystery is that an inter-breeding among the Sura Clans is normally not possible so it is a wonder how Kali managed to make Yuuta into Garuda-Taraka.
