The skies darkened for just a bit and the weather has been getting to me already. Wasn’t I supposed to feel happy? I’ve finally managed to enroll to this academy, with all the joys and bliss of youth and yet why do I feel sad. Is it the weather? No it must be something else. Looking at the gates and myriads of faces that passed by; I can’t say the euphoria I got when I received the acceptance letter wasn’t there to stay.
The Academia was an institution that just didn’t accept anybody. If you don’t have the aptitude or prowess to be the best, then you’re better off to somewhere else. The Academia admits only the best of the best; let it be in the fields of academics, sports and everything else. The higher ups of the school are so obsessed with obtaining talented individuals that they made the expenses in the school free of charge on one condition; you must prove to them that you are worth their time.
And after a few, untold struggles, I’ve finally found myself at the school gates. Holding at my one potential, the thing I’m sure that I’ll not be beaten at…
“Oi, what are you spacing out for?”
A voice suddenly called from behind. A sweet scent embracing my senses, I turn around to see a girl with her green, bright eyes, fluttering hair and her signature item that she always carries a bow.
“Nothing much, I’m just relishing the moment. I still can’t believe that I was able to enter in this prestigious Academia, with my academics near abyssal point, I really thought I’ll never enter.”
The girl merely smiled at my worry. Patting me on the back, she whispered softly on the ear.
“You should have confidence on yourself, my prince. Uncle would be quite disappointed if he saw you crumbling on the first day…”
Her breath slowly touching my neck, I push myself away. Her soft laughter tickles my reason.
“Well, I’m not like you, Senna. Or should I say, Princess of Affection.”
“I told you not to call me by that title.” The girl pouted. Amidst the high standards and prestige of the Academia, there was another prospect that she was particularly famous at.
“Woops, my friends are calling me. I’ll see you around later then and oh, congratulations again for being admitted!” With a smile, Senna ran off towards the building together with her friends and following her, pockets of whispering from the other students.
“Wasn’t she a Cielo Tratti?”
“Wasn’t her title Affection?”
“Fool, it’s the Princess of Affection! She’s so pretty and…affectionate as always.”
The “Cielo Tratti”, a group of 9 girls who excelled in the Academia in all aspects and with their beauty and unique personalities, they are admired not only by the boys but other girls alike. The 9 girls hold all aspects of authority in the school, given by the headmaster himself.
“Cielo Tratti huh?”
Pondering to the thought of Senna being one, I let out a hearty laugh as I head inside and what greeted me was more of a hotel setting than of a school. Corridors that are polished to perfection, Classrooms that seemed more of an office, students acting properly considering it’s the first day of classes, with these things, I felt out of place or rather, a scum for thinking such things as inappropriate.
Taking out the acceptance letter, I try to look for the classroom I was placed at. In the Academia, things run differently from your normal schools. Usually, you look at the bulletin boards, chatter endlessly with your friends even with the teacher being there, and just spending your youth wisely but with me being here, I have to act different.
“Err…Class 1C wait, this is where I am right now and is that..”
Peeking inside, I saw a familiar face laughing her head off.
“Crap, its..”
“Hey! Don’t tell me we’re on the same class?! Lucky!” Senna ran towards me with a tight hug. Despite the air-wrenching pressure, I can feel something soft pressing against my chest.”
“Oi, you better be not feeling me in weird places.” Senna said with a playful voice.
“Your image might be ruined you know?” I said while trying to break free.
“Who cares about that?!”
After a few moments of commotion, someone entered the room which caught everyone’s attention and surely it wasn’t the teacher. It was student and the moment she stepped inside, I can feel the mood changing to a more serious tone. Her eyes travelled towards me and Senna and as I think of things as an excuse, her face broke into a small smile and moved closer. The girl let me go, and with tears on her eyes, the two embraced.
“It’s been a while my dear Senna, I’ve missed you so much.”
“You too, I never expected for us to be of the same class and I thought I would never see you again. “
When I saw your name on 1C’s class list, I just had to change sections…”
Amidst the reunion that is happening, my mind remained confused and the air of seriousness still prevailed. Noticing this, Senna grabbed me.
“Oh, Solace this is my friend who just got admitted.”
The girl turned towards me and with a small bow, she introduced herself.
“Good morning. I’m Sophia Lazuline Ceraphine. Me and Senna have been friends for a long time and I thank you for taking care of her.
“She prefers to be called Solace though right?”
The girl nodded.
“Oh, and if I forget to mention, she is also one of the Cielo Tratti as the Princess of Serenity.”
My eyes widened but I wasn’t really surprised. With a personality and beauty like royalty, I would be more shocked if she wasn’t with the Cielo Tratti.
“Err yeah, I-It’s nice to meet you too, Solace. I hope we get along.”
After a few moments of chatter, Senna and Solace stood up. “Ok then, everyone let’s go to the entrance ceremony! We can’t let the student president waiting you know?!”
“Yes Princess.”
With unsure thoughts and confusion still swirling in my mind, I fall in line.
“Oh, I forgot to mention, the student council president is also a Cielo Tratti.” Senna whispered through my ear.
“Why am I not surprised?”
