I started reading it before and now I can't find it anywhere, before I even thought to memorize the name. It follows the story of a bodyguard to a princess who begs him to rescue her from a political marriage in the opening chapter. He resigns his position and flies in at an appropriately 'boss' moment. They use these special weapons that have a very particular weapon I can't recall but some part of me wants to say 'artifacts' or something of that nature. Either way, it turns into a quest to free this vampire from some floating prison.

I know that is terribly generic but I wouldn't mind help from any experts out there!
