The author should be ashamed, take a look at this thread:

http://forum.onemanga.com/showthread.php?t=91178

Even now I'm always amazed, just how many idiots are on the internet ... Someone makes a thread, based on baseless some daydream, and it's guaranteed, that someone else will turn up to re-discover it again, and again, as "the one truth" ...

@FakeHero
No, WH is not plagiarism, and it's not like Bleach, FMA, or the others are unquestionably original works. Each and every work has it's root in others: it's the nature of literature. If you don't see the works a manga based on, it's just means you didn't read enough books yet.

When you draw manga, each and every picture comes from somewhere. It may be a picture taken, a scene from an other work, a painting, an illustration, or something else. Pieces from the scene may come from different places, but the scene itself is original. If I were an artist, and if I were to saw a cool scene somewhere, I'm damn sure, that I'd like to include it in my work too, and that's what you call "inspiration by other work".

that's not plagiarism, that's just referencing/tracing, hell even the story is very different between the mangas that you put in that post.

if you really want to see plagiarism, check Nick Simmon's Incarnate, same story, same art, same enemies, same concept, same line, and to add salt to the wound, Nick simmons threatened a lawsuit against all those who said that his manga is a ripoff

While some of those have close similarities, I can't say the same for a lot of them as well.

Nothing like the thing with Incarnate.

Oh god. That's bad. I can tell they just plainly took photoshop or paint tool sai and moved around some scanulation parts and traced over them :T That's not cool. To try to compare this to with hunter is like comparing the titanic to your canoe in summer camp flipping over.

if i remember well if the pictures are similar enough regardless of the story,is called tracing if those where used as reference here is an example http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2011/12/10/jump-manga-suspended-for-tracing/, but then again is a korean manga and since both countries hate each other it may have been done on purpose

"Inspiration".... I don't think so.

May be the frames where picked because of the author wanted to transmit the same feeling to the reader he got from the original work, or may be he thought they were perferct drawings to transmit somthing different from the original, or may be the panels fitted there and could help speed up the process or meeting a deadline...

To me that's plagiarism, and the fact that there are worse cases... it doesn't mean this isn't. I'd doubt if the author stated somewhere that his drawing work isn't a complete original work... but no one has said anything about it

I feel like if I were to draw the moon or a character sleeping on a bed, someone would be able to find a manga that has a moon or a character sleeping on a bed and say that I plagiarise even if the art style is different from the example.

Rather than saying who's right and who's wrong, I'm supporting those who said this analysis is pointless.
There's a thin line between plagiarism and inspiration. There is, pure plagiarism, but it's like the Apple-Samsung patent war - you can take it all the way to the end of the universe.

This is discussion is pointless... i know some of you people think that this "cool" manhwa is a mere plagiarism of some "top shot" manga from japan... and we cant deny the fact that some of the chapters looks far similar to the mangas that have been mention because they have proof... its not really coincidentally... but either way this manhwa is still cool and i love reading it and i am dying to wait for the chapters to release... it really reminds me of the mangas that have been mention because of the similarities... but they are still different not by just the art or the story but the whole of it... we cant just say that its pure plagiarism but we can also say that it has some inspiration for them because they are top shot mangas and maybe the author also liked them so thats why some part of it looks a copy of them... sorry if my english grammar is bad... xD

This is discussion is pointless...

Well, yeah, seeing as none of us are actual litigants in a lawsuit or some sort of legal action, I suppose it is "pointless" given that perspective. However, since this is just a conversation between people who are interested, there's really no good reason to shout it down. This is pretty much what the forums are for.

You're absolutely right. Just speaking for myself, the complaints of some about propriety have nothing to do with me. That's between.......whoever. Be it this case of accusations of plagiarism, disagreements between scan groups, or complaints from fans in a publication's country of origin about fan scanlations..........that stuff's not any of my business. As long as it's available for me to read, I'll read it if I want to. If it gets pulled and I can't read it anymore........oh well, I'll live with. :D

at most all i see is similar concepts. Demons. Guilds. Etc. things no copied abilities, no copied characters the only REALLY similar thing is the female to male protagonist. And even then it wasn't the authors own thoughts.

Yup! Witch Hunter is the best Manhwa ever, then there's come Dark Air.
When I tried to read Freezing-that's the first manhwa I tried to read b4 WH- I found it's plot is too boring at first, then the pointless echi come second, then the character design too sucks. How can something like that become an anime? Berserk is like that too, a failure for korean manhwa trying to be an anime. So does Freezing. I wonder why some good manhwa or webtoon like ToG or The Breaker (new waves have to wait a little to judge) and Witch Hunter can't be an anime? It's all awesome webtoon and manhwa!

and Guilty Crown Manga sucks, that's it!

I thought Berserk was japanese..that is some news for me.

Let the haters hate. They can't come up with original ideas so they start flaming on others. :D

Let the haters hate. They can't come up with original ideas so they start flaming on others. :D

And this manhwa is just brimming with originality. Besides, haters have no originality? So only admirers of any idea, good or otherwise are full of such notions? A little thought on your words, please.

I have no problems really with this manhwa, sure the exorcist(witch-hunt) bit might seem familiar(plagiarized), but it is certainly not boring. What really got me was when that one of the witches that attacked the train, uses her ability, you can't tell me that's not a blatant copy of Qubeley? A slight alteration on the design, but that's it.  A few other things I just can't recall though.

Besides, the uhmm.... reference to other mangas is not actually ruining it or others. I hope... Whelp, the manhwa's fun, that's all that matters, no? Most of us here are thieves anyway. I most certainly am.
