Sparring with Kashia
Labinnah and Kashia took up an arena-style platform in the corner. It was flat, square, and the floor was plain tile, nothing that would affect a battle. Labinnah withdrew his Glaive, and Kashia equipped her Einel. It was going to be a simple sparring match, over whenever either participant was tired. Labinnah charged forward, sweeping from the right with the Glaive, only to find it being blocked by Einel. The deflection was unexpected and caused Labinnah to throw himself backwards cautiously. He feared staying unguarded for very long in front of any opponent, and Kashia was a particularly dangerous one. The two went back and forth, defending, launching offensives, but neither was able to land any significant blows on the opponent. Labinnah was getting bored of this rhythm, and decided to take a risk. He threw all of his weight behind a downward strike, intending to force Kashia to dodge. Kashia reacted differently, she returned the risky attack with a heavy blow of her own, it was going to be a battle of strength. Having misjudged his opponent's actions, Labinnah was startled by this counter attack. He pushed onwards, hoping he could break through her attack. The Glaive and Einel smashed together with a thunderous crack that echoed through the room. Then something unexpected happened. Labinnah's Glaive shattered. The wooden shaft had taken too much strain and splintered. Labinnah was sent skittering along the tile floor. After a moment, he stood up slowly and observed his body for wounds. He noticed a chunk of the Glaive's shaft had entered into his left arm. He grabbed the wooden splinter and pulled it out of his arm. He grit his teeth, stood up, and gazed at the remnants of his polearm.
"Well, that is unfortunate. Oh well, it had to happen someday, no matter what kind of wood it was made from, It still lacked the strength to clash head on with Einel. You win this round, Kashia. I'll see you later, i'm going to rest. Don't worry about repairing the Glaive either. I'll take care of things."
He said, looking at Kashia. He stepped off the arena and walked back to his room.
