Enabling notifications on Youtube will give you a rectangle popup on the bottom-right of the screen.

Maybe we have something like that for Batoto follows?

To get that effect, I use an rss feed reader (Feedly + Feedly Notifier) and subscribe to my Batoto Follows feed.

 

Given that Batoto is built on top of IP.Board, Invision Power would have to implement Web Notifications themselves, unless Grumpy wanted to single handedly overhaul the notification system of IP.Board to support it.
