The funny thing is, in an old interview by some Japanese manga hobbyist interviewer, Horikoshi Kouhei once said that he hates cliffhanger and doesn't like to use them because he's can't promise the reader will find the next chapter worth the cliffhanger.

I love that half the time they are, while the other half the time they aren't.

 

Because, as you know, the rest of the mangas' ones aren't.

 

At least it's about 50%.
