What conclusion is he reaching here and how? Is he saying she only lives to grow bigger? I don't see any bases for that conclusion, especially with only a little bit of word exchange having just met her.

That sounds like racism to me. Besides which, hair color, 3 hairs on top, small bits of hair/feather on the side, very different hair lengths, eye color, even face/neck seem different, they look very different to me.
