A Story Forgotten

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Introduction

 

When you open your eyes, you are in complete darkness. You try to remember your past, yet your memory seems to draw nothing but blanks. You are starting to feel insecure. The darkness that surrounds you seems to move ever closer to you, as if to swallow you whole. To engulf you. To make you a part of them.

 

You tried to fight back, you punched and kicked as hard as you can. Yet what your fists reached were nothing but unsettling emptiness. You tried to scream, you screeched until your throat became sore, yet nothing escapes your mouth. Nothing. Nothing but reverberating silence.

 

Before you gave up, however, you heard a voice. “Ye who hold potential for limitless power, heed my call..” It says, repeatedly. At first, it was nothing but a whisper. Yet the more you focus your mind to it, the louder and clearer it gets. Before you know it, footsteps of light appear in front of you, as if guiding you. Guiding you away from this world of darkness, and on to the place you’re supposed to be.

This is a conceptual RP where the final goal is, ultimately, the creation of your Character Sheet (CS). You start as a blank character, without even a name or an appearance; and throughout the RP, you will unlock bits of your CS little by little. As such, the RP would most likely consists of personalized, one-on-one updates where I, as a GM, will put you in a certain situation and see how your character responds. As such, I would like to keep the player base small. Who knows, I would probably accept more applications when I think I can handle it, but for starter I think 4-6 is my limit.

 

Yes, I know, I am an unreliable GM (or player, even) that often disappears due to 'inexplicable reasons' *cough* corporate slavery *cough*, but I am in need of ways to 1) use my ever-expanding character pic gallery, 2) relieve stress from work, or 3) spread the misery to fellow RPers by being a shitty GM with unreasonable demands. So yeah, in preparation of the Holiday Season in (on? my brain is not working properly at the moment) July, I am here with the intention to invite you to this empty, magical world inside my head.

Character : Male

 

Writing Sample: Slowly as the dark fog clears and the glowing footsteps urge me on, I pick myself up, unsure of what this would amount to. But it is better than sitting in darkness, howling like a lost, abandoned puppy. If there is something that can be punched or hacked, I hold enough confidence in my arms to pound a fissure into the ground. Hesitantly, I follow the footsteps, accompanied by the ghostly voice that has a certain surety and semblance of warmth to it. The encroaching and swallowing darkness seems to be keeping its distance from me. I walk on, wishing to to see a sight to fill my head with blood. There's nothing better than a good fight. 

 

Preferred Weapon: Heavy Maul/Mace

For a while the void was peaceful. Comforting. No noise, no sights, no fear. No... Anything.

We were simply existing, in some strange new sense of the word we that don't think we had considered before. Most of the time we didn't even bother to think. And we certainly never considered. We just sat and felt the nothing that surrounded us. We found kinship there. Kinship and comfort. We became one with it for a time.

 

And then we had a thought.

 

It was a simple thought. The first one in a long time. We wondered, we did. Where were we? So we asked ourselves, and found the answer. We didn't know. So another question chased the first ones tail. Who were we? We didn't know that either. But we knew we were scared now. A feeling we had long since forgotten about. But now it was back in full. The darkness we had embraced wasn't comfortable, we realized. It was no longer pleasant to tuck our self between the shadows and sleep, consoling ourselves with the endless dreams of nothing. No. Now the shadows were prisons to us, not pillows. And they were moving closer. Closing in. Surrounding us with a sinister slowness that deceived the eyes.

We'd forgotten we had a throat until we sung a soundless dirge for the terrors that surrounded us.

We'd forgotten we had hands until we reached for our knives and grasped only despair.

We'd forgotten we had ears until we heard the voice.

We ran.

Boy oh boy Joker. There are things that you simply hate yourself to love.

Now, here's the thing. Your CS is one for me.

 

Just by reading it, I can imagine all the headaches I will have for trying to keep up with it. To keep it entertaining for you and your character. But damn do I love it. I guess I should let you finish it before giving it the final verdict, but so far it's a yes~

 

Also a weapon could basically be anything as long as it is within the scope of sword and magic ranging from basic sword to an automata

Was it Death itself that swallowed me? The prevailing silence smothered even the frantic beating of my fading heart. The destruction of myself, the end of me, and I almost desired it. But for a promise and some light, I would have closed my eyes forever.

 

Like a sapling starved for life, I turned away from the void and cleaved to that piercing presence. The voice spoke of power, of purpose, but I cared little for that yet.

 

Slowly, I remembered that I was not one with the darkness. Nothing else was certain, but there was this, and it was enough.

 

I pulled myself forward.
