@Missy: I'm incredibly confused by what I have read of both yours and slice's post. Slice puts you on the First floor in your private room while your part comes out as sitting at the bar and walking towards Slice?

 

Also, the radiant star bit? Is it the 'dropping the disguise' moment? Will everyone see it or it is more of a mind's eye variant as said by Slice?

 

Also, as far power levels go, I do think your character more sounds like a Solo run Kill'em all kinda deal.

From what I understand, Missy and Slice's dialogues are happening in a mental space of some sort, and we mere mortals are not to realize anything

 

But yeah, I've been having qualms about missy's amaterasu powers.
I can imagine her leveling the entire tower of ishido when in a pinch, or when someone she has grown to treasure is about to die.

 

And on a rather fluff level, missy's choice of name that is not traditionally used in japan. Taiyou is sun, yes, but tiazu? That sounds more chinese than japanese to me

And the fact that slice's character and the temple she originates from, which feels very eastern-inspired and is set on an asian theme, are named in a very western manner. :\

I'll get to Missy's post in a second but I was wondering if Aurora's inner eye shouldn't be damaged by -- if not the quality of Tia's chi, then by the volume of it?

@Faye: It's just personal taste.

 Yeah, after reading Missy's post, I feel like Aurora should have suffered some sort of spiritual damage or negative affects from all of this staring into a sun.

@DR: Faye is right, they're conversing on the astral plane. So they're completely alone in their conversion.

That said, Missy is exaggerating her character's solar aspects quite a bit. That shine needs to be bright, not blinding. Otherwise we'll get more situations like what we now have with Aurora.

Missy and I have already discussed her character's power level privately and came to an understanding. So there's no problem there.

Speaking of which, why hasn't Tia met other monks before now? Aurora's bio mentions plenty of other people with her skills.

I don't think Orcra recognizes himself as an Orc, so I don't think he'd be offended. PLus, I have the penchant for making glaciers, so a dim-witted glacier isn't too far off for me.

Plus, we already have the dragon and the Tiger. Add to it the Prodigy and Femme Fatale, so all its missing are Papa Wolf/Mama Bear and a Glacier =P

Faye has the money, this is happening in a weird sort of mental space. If somebody wanted to they could tap Aurora on the shoulder or something and she'd pull out to address them, she's basically sitting in the dining room by herself.

Aurora isn't her real name. Something very significant happened in her past that was punctuated by the appearance of an aurora in the night sky, so she took it as her name. I could use a Japanese translation for that, but the only ones I found would be awkward as a name (one doesn't sound feminine or like something you'd take as a name, the other is basically engrish).

The temple, I tried to mash Hoshido with some other Asian-inspired nomenclature for places from some other games I've played. Wasn't really aiming for anything but a neat sounding name there.

I was actually planning to work around that a bit. If I read Missy's post properly, Tiazu doesn't start cranking up the glow until she notices and starts addressing Aurora, which would in theory tip her off and give her time to employ some countermeasures.

 

Unless Missy wants to say she went from 0 to 100 instantaneously (or we rule that said mortal countermeasures wouldn't do jack against a sun goddess), in which case... that's going to be a problem. I've basically got it designed so that Aurora's healing works by mending somebody's Chi and blah blah blah I'll get into the technical aspects IC, but she basically needs to have the Inner Eye functional to heal people properly. Having it damaged means inadequate days are to be had.

Ouch guys, ouch.

I didn't know I had such a reputation for causing problems. :/

First and foremost, the whole conversation literally is going on inside Tia's head. So if I had to wager a guess, she could be whatever she damn well pleases inside her own mind. She could be the chupacabra, if she wanted. That aside, she is not attacking, or trying to hurt anyone, even Hero's character. Calm yet tuts.

Exterior-wise, she will start off the same as everyone else for the most part. Have a little faith, would you? ^^; The only reason Maddie basically got stronk in Sanctuary was because that someone had to seize initiative to help push the floundering story forward. My. Bad. Sheesh. All that aside, Naifu's quite correct.

Heck, I was the one who approached him first preemptively to address, and immediately absolve that issue privately. Just a wee bit surprised that things I do are so poorly thought of. I can take a hint though, I guess. She was going to do this mostly anyway, but Tiazu will be entirely support from here on out.

PS. Faye, Taiyo isn't as fun to say as Tiazu to me. Just an opinion, like yours. And yours can go get a Colonoscopy from fifty feet of rusty barbed wire.
