It's been really annoying, for quite some time. Either due to server delays or group policy delays, I'll get an RSS update from my follows list, open it up, and then the chapter won't actually be there. Can't view the images, can't go to the home page for the series and view it. Then because I've already viewed the chapter in my reader, it doesn't pop up again when the chapter ACTUALLY becomes available, and there's no good way of checking when it does asides from constantly going to the page. Can we get an option to only have something appear in the RSS feed when the chapter can actually be read?

Like you said, the rss notice really just tells you that it has been uploaded to the system, but, because of various reasons, that's not a guarantee that it's available to read. It's just how the system is, and though it's been brought up many, many times, that's how it has always remained.

The best way of checking up on those releases is through your follows list. If there's an rss notice/link on something that then isn't available to read, it won't be on your follows list. When it becomes available, it then appears on your follows list.

I mean, it's just that easy for me......... I check my follows page off and on throughout the day anyway.......so I'm not sure why you'd have to resort to going all the way to those individual comic pages as your only means of following up on them.

Just a quick clarification: the RSS feed doesn't see chapters that aren't approved. Chapters that appear in your RSS feed but aren't available have been approved by a mod or uploaded by a contributor (auto-approved) and have a delay set by the uploader.

My words are my own, and do not represent Batoto in any way, shape, or form unless otherwise stated in the post itself ^.^

Ah, so this scenario (most likely) arises only in the case of a delay policy/delay set by the uploader........my bad, I get a lot of other notices/release posts/etc. to go along with the batoto rss, so I just didn't remember the exact scope of this minor inconvenience  :D

Thanks :)

Yeah except that the whole reason that I use the RSS feed is so that I DON'T have to keep checking the site multiple times a day.

It also doesn't always arise only in the case of the delay set by policy/uploader. Sometimes when a chapter is brand new, even if it's in the follows list, it'll not actually appear when you go to try and read it. It's been happening this past week with Tomo, for instance.

Yes, I've noticed the same on that title as well......to be honest, that's exactly why I went to their site (tumblr in this case, lovelivescans) yesterday and just read the chapter there and followed them so I'd get notices on new releases that worked better than here.

Daktyl says it's only in the event of an uploader fixing a delay on the upload, so I assume SuisuiGo is doing just that. No biggie to me. As I mentioned in my second post, I get a variety of notices from sources other than Batoto's rss feed......I put effort into getting to read what I want, so this just isn't a big deal to me.

I got an rss on Prison School an hour or so ago.......the thing is, I'd already read the chapter at least an hour or so before that. put effort into this, I don't expect batoto to hand everything to me on a silver platter. You've been around here even longer than me, you should know this is just how it is.........Batoto isn't going to "fix" something that they consider to be operating properly.

I'm pretty sure what he's talking about is the synchronization bug, where the chapter is just uploaded and isn't synced across all image servers/cdns yet so even though the chapter is "available" and shows in My Follows, it can't be read. The old fix to this issue was to switch the image server, but that's currently broken with no ETA on a fix so... idk :P

You mean what was mentioned about Tomo-chan wa Onna no ko! I guess......yeah, could be, though I'm not sure. I've honestly only really started taking note that it was different for me over the last few days or so.......prior to that it had just always been there when I'd followed the link. Over the last handful of days however, I get an rss link, takes me to the empty, "read your comics" page, and then, no, it wasn't on my follows list, nor did it reflect on the comic page chapter listing. In yesterday's case, just looking back on my follows later, it looked like there was most likely at least a few hours gap from when I had tried to read it and when my follows said it had appeared.

Oh well, really no biggie to me, I'm glad to go to the scan group's site to either read or download.......it'd just not ever been necessary since it was always immediately available (to me at least, when I finally checked my rss's   :D )
