Yeah, Akira was pretty close to getting kissed.  Bummer for him.  At the same time, perhaps it'll be all the sweeter when it finally happens.  Posters talk about him being behind the curve for romance, but it seems that it's Urabe who's behind Oka in this one (since the two girls kind of control their boyfriends with the iron fist in the velvet glove [or scissors in Urabe's case]).  I'm still enjoying this story in all its' Ueshiba riichiness.

I eagerly anticipate each new release, and I sent Viz an email expressing my hope that they will release the series.  They make the best looking editions of the ones I own, and although lately the opening panels haven't had the punch of the ones from the early chapters, I still feel that the art deserves the best print quality available.

I don't understand Akira's obsession with secrecy, and I wonder if the deepening of his relationship with Urabe isn't held back by it.  It seems comical that he's the only one out of the four of them who still believes that it is actually a secret, but that joke has gotten a little old.

I hadn't really thought much about that, but why is he so obsessed with keeping the relationship secret?  It definitely seems odd.  He's in high school, for Pete's sake, not elementary school.

I guess it kind of sucks for you, but it's great for us readers.  Thanks for all your hard work bringing the MGX craziness to us.

By the way, Cake-kun, love your avatar. (Cat ears and glasses are a definite weakness of mine, not to mention green eyes.)

Well, things are moving along.  About the only recurring character who doesn't know about Tsubaki's and Urabi's status is Ueno.  It's not like they're not obvious to anyone with any powers of observation.  I think the secrecy schtick is about to run out.  I'm still really enjoying this manga, though.  I'm hoping that our favorite typhoon-like idol comes back for more fun and games.

I hate to sound like a downer, but I don't think this story is going to move forward time-wise as some people are expecting: to whit - several summer vacations and winter terms have elapsed, but the characters are still in class 2A. Time has been put on hold and story arcs get dreamed up & played out with only loose reference to time stamped events such as festivals. Cunningly, Ueshiba used a different school for his first festival arc.

The risk I see is, a bit like the Simpsons or for that matter any other franchise that has the main cast at school where there is supposed to be progression, the lack of time movement eventually becomes frustratingly obvious ("We've been watching The Simpsons for 50 years now and they're still at school???").

Will it be possible for Ueshiba san to start time flowing without throwing readers heads into chaos?

Well, most of the works of Ueshiba Sensei are pretty surreal, and his timelines apparently conform to the chaos as well.  I just enjoy it for what it is, kind of like America's Beetle Bailey still being a twenty-something Private in the army ever since World War II.

Sad.  I checked around, and the latest translated chapter is 90 by Crunchyroll, so we probably have 88-92 or so to look forward to.  Sigh, I'm going to miss my Ueshiba Riichi random chaos world.

Mmm, yeah, I don't know for sure, but with Crunchyroll being an actual simul-pub situation rather than a fan scanaltion thing like here with some amount of overlap.......yeah, I'd honestly interpret that as meaning ch 91, the very next, soon-to-be published chapter, being the last/end. But time will tell, that's just how it looks to me.

I don't know about Sex Panther, but I tried all sorts of colognes that didn't seem to go anywhere.  I ended up getting an English lavender cologne one day, and my wife went crazy.  She said it blended perfectly with my body chemistry (I couldn't even smell it after putting it on), and she grabbed me and kept sniffing my neck.  Needless to say, I dumped all my Bill Blass, Blue Stratos, and other designer scents, and went with that one, even though I have to order it from England now.  Come to think of it, when she wore Evere, it drove me nuts.  I guess pheromones are pretty powerful.

alot of mangas that i read are ending this year, kinda bittersweet really..

in reality the main couples relationship is in reality more deep, than all the other relationships. I mean they are able to feel what the other is feeling and in some strong instances read each others' minds. so, while htey haven't kissed, they are far beyond anything that is even remotely achievable, by anyone else. I mean, what would happen to eachother if they do kiss and keep that interaction connected, it would be a huge shock to them both, so they seem to be more cautious about how far to take it.

Like your take on the manga, Nightdragon.  So many people posting about this manga seem to think he's a total wuss for not pushing her down, but it's always seemed to me that Akira and Mikoto have something pretty precious.  If being a virgin during high school is the greatest shame of the male part of the human race, we have some, ah, interesting ways of looking at people's characters.  I'm not a "blue-nosed prude," as PervySageChuck would put it, but there are far better tests of someone's maturity and courage than merely "doing it." The ability to engage in coitus has little to do with courage, determination, and achievement of potential.   As a combat veteran, I don't really think the test of ultimate manhood is getting laid before you're out of your teens.  (Lest anyone immediately castigate me as a total sexist scumbag; my wife is also a combat veteran, and I coundn't be prouder of her.)

- Nightdragon- Rather than "how far to take it," I think it is more "how fast to take it" that is important for our two MC's.

Its always sad when a fine manga ends.

Somehow i like the end, i would be surprised if it had the "normal" cliche ending. Now we have a fitting end like the theme of this manga.

I really can't say I was disappointed by the ending.  I thought it fit in rather well with the whole tone of the manga.  They both matured a great deal, but the end left their relationship ongoing, rather than a "childhood's end" type of cliche that ties everything up with ribbons.  I liked it.  Thanks Ueshiba Riichi Sensei, for a great ride.
