Lovecraft In this, the information age, we choose to remain blissfully ignorant. Yes, it was a choice. We are fully capable of understanding but don’t. Instead, we ignore the parts that make us uncomfortable as if the choice to ignore them will make them go away. Unlike monsters under the bed, however, they remain quite real even if we choose to perceive them as otherwise. What am I talking about? Let’s call it the supernatural. That’s not quite right though. The title would imply that they are something other than naturally occurring. That assumption is wrong. They simply exist in a way that defies what we believe to be natural. Humans are a uniquely insular creation. We have the insatiable desire to catalog and make sense of the universe and anything that falls outside of this is considered supernatural. You see, man has created laws that the universe must observe and these do not. It wasn’t always the case though. When mankind was a younger race we knew better. Tell yourself long enough though that something doesn’t exist and you’ll start to believe it’s true. Look back though, search through enough stories and you’ll eke out the truths. There are too many common elements there for them to be completely without merit. You are different though. Aren’t you? Somewhere in your life you stepped off the trodden path and found them. Or was it they that found you? They left their mark upon you regardless. It’s shaped you. Perhaps not always for the better but the connection is there should you choose to pursue it. I can help you to that end. Where it will lead you or whether it will even be an experience you survive…I don’t know. I can only promise one thing. It will certainly be interesting.
Premise The world is a stranger place than people realize and that’s just the way they like it. Which is where you come in. A group of people who jump head first into incidents around the globe that involve the unexplainable. Untrained, under equipped, and underpaid you’ll need to venture where no normal person would dare and do whatever it takes to make sure they won’t have to. Discover the true face of the world and maybe you’ll learn a few things about yourself along the way.
The Team In the backwoods of Pennsylvania, nestled snugly within the Appalachian mountains, you'll find a quiet little town by the name of Strang. It was settled centuries ago by the Strang family who had crossed the ocean to settle in the new world. Their line died out years ago, but the nice little manor outside of town remains and has been acquired by Grant and his team. The manor itself has been restored fully to an immaculate status. He even went out of his way to make certain all the little secret nooks and passages were refitted. Ohh yes, there are quite a few of them throughout the sprawling estate that even Grant hasn't quite mapped out. The grounds themselves home ample facilities fitting for their needs including a multilevel basement, greenhouse, astronomy tower, dozens of bedrooms, tennis courts, swimming pools, etc. It's not all fun and games. Grant Redding gathered his team together for a purpose and he means to see it through. The world is filled with events that fall outside any standard jurisdiction. No enforcement agencies are prepared to handle what's truly out there but someone has to. That's where the team comes in. With Reddings backing they will move in and handle what nobody else can because some has to. They are a team though. The wording there is important. This is not the remnant of some ancient order. This is no cult. No government agency. You'll find no rules, regulations, nor penalties for actions. Anyone is free to leave at any time. Grant hopes they don't though. The door to the unknown is ajar and this group is sometimes all that keeps the bad things from spilling out. The Leader Grant Redding The Redding family has been wildly rich and influential since before they ever crossed over to the new world. You probably haven't heard of them though. Not your fault. They go to considerable lengths to keep out of the public eye. Nobody can really even say what they do. Whatever it is though it pays well. Grant provides all the money and pull that's needed for the group and without him they wouldn't exist at all. He's more than just the checkbook. Grant also acts as the guiding force behind them giving them direction and purpose. He may not go out in the field any longer due to old injuries but his experience and calm demeanor are called upon time and again. He's become something of a kindly uncle to everyone in the group. The Brains Astrid Eldridge Astrid provides the hard science of the group. She is very particular about that. "Science". While many things happen that fall outside the realm of theories she continues to refuse to acknowledge their existence and seeks out a more normal explanation. She can even be rather convincing at it too. She doesn't spend too much time outside her lab and even when not actively working on a case will remain there to pursue her own studies. What those exactly are, well, she keeps to herself. Astrid isn't particularly cold though. Just very particular. Spend some time around her and you'll find her to be quite the joker. The Imagination Giuseppe Marcus-Lutz Palomo If Astrid provides the science then Giuseppe provides everything that falls outside of it. His age has done nothing to damper his enthusiasm for all things out of the ordinary. However, this man is no simple loon spouting conspiracies. He's an academic whose studied and taught around the world and has been just about written off and kicked by as many places. He's brilliantly odd and eccentric with a mind as sharp as it is open. Giuseppe dives into every case expecting to find something new and is rarely disappointed. He is assisted by his long time friends Penelope and Garcia. The Handyman Kasper Harding What does Kasper do? Everything. Kind of. He's does just about anything that needs doing around the estate. You could call him the butler or gardener because he does that. Yet, he also is in charge of security as well as training the group in how to fight and survive where ever they are heading. Anything that Grant asks him to do he does without question. If anyone else asks him, however, their mileage may vary. Kasper comes across as standoffish and jaded and does little to try and change peoples opinion.

There’s no such thing as a bio being too long or short. Either it’s interesting or it’s not. Family/Friends: List any relatives or close friends of significance alive or dead along with a short description of the relationship. Flaws: Your personal failings. Vices. Shortcomings. Whatever aspects of you that are lacking. Strengths: The parts of your inner self that you take pride in. Goals: Where do you want to go in life? Who do you want to be? Regrets: What have you done that you wish you could take back? Abnormal Quality: How has the supernatural touched upon your life? Were you abducted by aliens? Part of a secret experiment? Were your parents vampire hunters? Remember what you put here isn’t necessarily the whole and honest truth but rather what occurred based on your own perception of events.
