Then what the hell is the problem? If someone was doing something wrong, then why not explain it without going "LOL DONE" and wiping the system just like that.

The system is what made the RP fun.

You should have more patience when introducing a system with any level of complexity beyond "Here's stats, here's points, spend them." Especially when a player has to hunt through OOC for relevant info. Just because most of us missed that one mechanic about skill trees is not a reason to throw the system away and indirectly call us all stupid in the process. 

That said, how about let us have one skill tree unlocked for free if it fits our class? The way things are, most of us will choose to be extremely specialized rather than waste points unlocking trees.

Because points are piss. There is no finite amount. That limit was for your benefit. I was taking it slow, trying to ease you guys into it. And I'm not saying you guys are stupid but I can only answer the same question only so many times, so many different ways.

And let's not forget, when I started all of you were against the system, you said it was too complex. Now I'm throwing it out, and you guys are still pissed. Despite what you think, I'm the one bending over backwards here to accommodate all of you. So don't get mad at me because your food was just the way you liked it and your pillow was fluffed to your exact specifications.

People change their minds all the time, nobody is perfect.

If people find their original thought wrong, especially at initial confusion, they are more than allowed to change it instead of going against something eternally just because someone told them they're not allowed to think differently lol.

When the system stretches for like 20+ pages of research and work and then the RP dies in a few weeks....it can get annoying to put that kind of hard work into developing a character only to see it put to little use if at all.

Just saying.

Either way, people were making the same repetitive mistake (including me) about the Points usage. Each set of abilities has a category. You have to spend a point in that category to unlock the ability to use said category at all. Makes sense to me.

Also of note, I didn't even see the skill points post until Socrates posted that link.

Well, admittedly more than a bit of it is my fault for setting the worst example possible. I'm of the opinion that you should keep the system, it's been said several times now that its uniqueness was nice and well received. The main problem from my perspective is organization of the information. I think if you took a little time to compile the relevant information in the first post of either the OOC or the Info Cache and then when something new comes up, post it in the OOC and add it there it would improve things. People get opposed to unpleasant surprises; I was a bit miffed when I found out I only had roughly half the skill points I thought I did because I overlooked the unlock bit, mainly because it came out of nowhere. I'd highly recommend you give it another shot, rather than dropping it. You've clearly put a lot of work into this, and I think it'd be a shame to let it go to waste.
