Heheh it seems I'm not the only one who thought of shipping Maruna and Cloche xD.
You have no idea how happy those words make me. If I don’t ever reply again just know it’s because I died of happiness.
I mean hey it's not too far fetched...
To me Maruna has three potential love interests.
The first and most obvious being Samfartface, then right behind her is Riagara, and rounding out the little trio is the least likely but also the most fitting and overall superior choice; Cloche.
but this scene here is the reason why it's a funny (and interesting) pair. I forgot what chapter I got it from, but i had to screen shot it at the time cuz it was funny xD.

Otherwise known as the beginning of my descent into Clorunaville. Okay that’s a lie. That *hit started back in episode 67 when she was jealous of his transcendental.
I mean was it really necessary for him to enter from behind like that and whisper menacingly into her ear?
And when he said he was 'hungry'. pffft

Back to topic, the only thing is that Cloche and Maruna are from two different clans :'( , but there is the possibility. A forbidden love type of thing(predator and prey) lol. Sadly, they don't interact much.

I don’t see that being a problem until the future, if there even is a future for any of them.
With the way this story is going the whole universe will be destroyed by the end of the series anyway.

Oh my god yes. Only, Maruna is the prey. And he won’t know it until it’s too late and she already has her feathery little wings hooked into both his heart and his abs.
Side note: What is up with those feathery appendages attached to her sura form?
The last time I checked the only winged snakes were in my nightmares.
Devastatingly Sadly, they don't interact much.
So sad, so true. BUUUUUUUT. The interactions they have had could serve as a good building block for an eventual ship.

Exhibit A!
First up we have the “I’m hungry Cloche” scene, where Maruna eavesdropped on Cloche and Hura’s conversation. Assuming he listened in from at least halfway, he would have heard Cloche bad mouthing Gandharva and saying how she ‘felt sorry for the Gandharva tribe.’
Why is this significant?
Because it’s the first sign both we and Maruna are shown of Cloche’s unusual empathy. (unusual among sura)
I think her emotional side is what could initially attract Maruna to her. (At least in my dreamland it does)
Also Cloche badmouthing Gandharva also shows us and roo roo that she isn’t shy when it comes to criticising her superiors. At least the ones who aren’t Saggy.

Next we have the scene in Season 2 Episode 79: The one to stand before me – 9
This is the scene where Sagara and crew run into Yuta.
After Yuta finishes decimating Clophe, Riagara, and Pingara, he asks Sagara, “What did you do to deceive my brother?” And we see Cloche reacting to this piece of information and realising his brother is Maruna.
(I find it curious that we are shown glimpses of Cloche’s point of view during Sagara and Yuta’s talk. And despite her limited appearances she always seems to be the one leading the conversations with her group.)
Also Sagara says to Yuta “The one thing I do know… is that your brother is cooperating with us for the sake of the Garuda clan.” Which Cloche also would have heard and tucked away in her little Maruna file.

And in the following chapter Season 2 Episode 80: The one to stand before me – 10
We see Cloche lying to Hura about who attacked them, all the while glancing at Maruna.
And then she asks him “What were you up to? I saw the sky turn red.”
To which he responds “The humans provoked me into a fight.” And we get to see her calling him a liar in her head. Showing us that she knows exactly who he was fighting. She just chose to keep it to herself. But the question is why? Maybe because she knows he’s her destiny.

Next up we have Season2 Episode 150: Your justice and mine – 16
We are treated to a scene of Cloche giving the team a heartfelt speech “Do you think that at the end of this fight, we’ll be able to come together like this again?”
“I want to be able to see everyone’s face again… That’s what I worry about. That’s it...”
And then Samphati and Maruna make their presence known and Samphati tells her “Don’t worry you won’t be in any danger.”
Implying that she heard their conversation, which means Maruna would have too.
Which would allow him yet again to see her emotional and caring side. A side which the rest of them are surely lacking. (here's looking at you bird lady)

Also important to note in that episode.
When Maruna and Samphati meet Sagara she opens with “The kids didn’t complain?” and Maruna responds with,
“Of course they did. They were all crying out ‘What about Sagara nim?’
Still M “hopefully they won’t disregard the plan and follow us.”
The only two who were vocal about Sagara were Riagara and Cloche.
Maruna probably had Cloche’s sad little speech still in his mind.
(Too far of a stretch? Just close your eyes and believe!)

And lastly we have Season 2 Episode 160 Your justice and mine – 26
Maruna and Hura return and Cloche asks where Sagara is.
Maruna of course ignores her, still focused on what the duck happened to Samphati.
Then Cloche gets frustrated, “Maruna!! Don’t you care about Sagara-nim even a—”
And he cuts her off with that I’mma cut a *itch stare.
And she appears to be unnerved, or aroused. Who can say really?
And then he’s back with another stare, only this one seems more contemplative than anything.
And then he finally responds. “If this is about that king of yours, she’ll return unharmed. She’s cowardly enough to use my little brother’s body as a shield.”
Cue Cloche’s shocked “?!” As in ‘oh no my future lover’s little baby bro is being used by my mother. Oh no! This might put a damper on our ship. Oh no.’

So yeah. I think that second stare of his was Maruna remembering her beautiful speech and thinking of her relationship to Sagara, which prompted him to sullenly reply with the that king of yours line.
Also why divulge that little titbit about using his brother’s body as a shield to her?
Unless he was venting his frustrations to his future wifey.

Come season 3 I think there’s a distinct possibility of them furthering their already obvious relationship.
At the very least they’ll meet up if only to give Gandharva some closure on his daughter.
Remember Cloche’s ability Last Memory?
And how it was implied by Hura that Cloche might know what happened because of said ability?
Well that could be resolved in season 3.

Anyway, back to the topic of Kubera squared.
This used to be my OTP before I fell in love with Cloche's character.
I like Yuta and I appreciate his character, but he’ll always be a little boy and Leez needs a maaan.
A man who doesn’t swallow her tongue every time he kisses her.
I mean I know Kubera was behind the attack on her village and everything, but that will just make their love that much stronger when they overcome it.
In an ideal world she would have a really healthy relationship with a normal guy like Kaz or Zard. But this is a fantasy setting and the heart always chooses the sexier option. (Well at least my heart does) (And I hope Currygom does too) (And Leez, she likes sexy faces right?)
Honestly at this point in the story I wouldn’t mind Leez being paired with anyone as long as it isn’t Yuta.
In fact I want him as far from her as possible.
They should be separated by at least one dimension at all times. Asha too.
LocationSomewhere I can daydream in peace, hopefully.
An additional point for Cloche/Maruna: If Clophe and Airi meet again and Cloche comments on being interested in humans, he'll have material to snark back at her. Like, Cloche, that guy tried to eat you.
