When the world first came into contact with a plane beyond our understanding, it was in the form of a white pillar of light that rained down all over the planet. People believed the light came down from Heaven, and that God was to speak to us, to guide us into the correct path. However, the light wasn’t one of comfort – it wasn’t warm, but both as cold as ice and hot as fire.
And from the dark skies rained the demons, the angels, and the gods.
The cities were burned, the statues erected in these figure’s honor was destroyed, and it was then that humanity came to understand what it meant to be lesser beings. Much like ants, humanity had to retreat to a place where the enemy will not follow: underground. And it was within the darkness that man had to continue surviving.
This was fifteen years ago.
Today, we look at the most dangerous of the cities: Los Angeles. What had once been lauded as the City of Angels did indeed become a city of angels – that is, angels looking to rid the earth of man once and for all. Closer to the ocean, hidden close to the cliffs that lead out to the Pacific Ocean, the second “Los Angeles” was built, and the survivors did what they could do not to starve to death.
But mankind could evolve, and mankind did evolve. The children born since the invasion had the appearance of man, but the strengths of the enemy. With more strength, and the ability to communicate with the enemy, the children decided to do what they felt was their duty: drive the enemy back, and destroy the pillar of light that was now known as the Ivory Tower.
The beginning of the rebellion has come.
The Mission
Spoiler
[Professor Victor – The Head Researcher of Los Angeles]
“It seems all of you children have decided to leave us adults to go and try to save the world. Well, I’m not against that at all, but it wouldn’t do to go without a goal and some information.
The enemy is not God, nor is it Lucifer. It seems as if neither Heaven nor Hell truly has an interest in us, but rather their forces decided that their side simply wasn’t big enough. In all honesty, no matter how much I research, I don’t think I’ll truly discover the motive that lead to the events from fifteen years ago.
However, what is important to know is who rules the city now: a powerful vampire whose powers are immense. We call him the Dragon. As it stands right now, it seems that the enemy has split themselves up to fight something of a civil war – the Dragon’s opponent is none other than Satan, the being who rules over the damned, the Serpent.
You all have been born into a race that is neither human nor higher being: you are both. The gift your generation has is true empathy. You understand both the hearts of humans and the enemy. You can communicate, and from what I saw, it’s possible for some of the enemy to even start fighting for you. However, with it comes a terrible power – a monster that is waiting inside of you, waiting to devour the powers of the demons, angels, and gods you defeat.
I cannot be held responsible for your decisions, for those are yours alone, but regardless of whether you choose to retain your humanity or embrace your monstrosity, I shall forever be your ally. The doors of my ship are always open to you all.”
Equipment and Abilities
Spoiler
[Portable Terminal]
A device that basically allows you to scan areas and gain information through these scans. The shape it takes is up to you: past terminals have been laptops, cellphones, even as armor. The terminal allows you to make use of your abilities in the sense that it can also translate dialogue between you and the enemy, allow you to access and save important information, as well as communicate between each other. The terminal can be recharged by spending a night using a portable battery charger and generating energy.
[Beast]
For lack of a better term, Beast refers to the monster that is born in your soul, as well as the name of the weapon you use. The monster is not something that truly takes shape – all that is known is that it definitely has a head and a mouth, and will come out of your back the moment you decide to devour another higher being. Note that you can absorb the abilities of those you eat but lose your humanity. The weapon itself is just a stick that doesn’t have a fixed form: it changes based on the nature of each individual monster, and evolves as the monster and host grows. However, the weapon itself actually becomes weaker as the monster grows stronger, but if you choose not to feed the monster, the weapon itself will devour the higher being (if you so choose) and raise its own power. This weapon is your only way to fight against the enemy; conventional weapons cannot pierce material that is non-existent in the human world.
[Travel Bag]
You need to store your belongings somewhere while you’re carrying it around. People have used shopping carts before, but maintenance is a bitch, and so is finding a good hiding place – you’re better off with a bag. Note that you can hold up to fifty different items, not counting your camping equipment. Each travel bag resembles a gigantic box you carry on your back; just note that people have used travel bags as coffins before, which is why the design is rather convenient, in a dark comedy sort of convenient.
[Monster Mask]
Identity is an important thing. Wearing a mask can be an incredibly affirming thing: when you look at your face in the mirror, do you wish to see how far you’ve come in becoming a monster, or would you deny your existence as a monster because of the human face underneath? Regardless, everyone owns a mask, and it’s useful for hiding oneself.

Spoiler
[Projected age is between 8 and 15]
Name: We all go by something.
Terminal ID: Basically an online handle or nickname.
Gender: Male/Female
Age: 8 – 15
History: How you grew up underground. You did not experience the invasion, and most likely growing up, you had rather violent or sociopathic tendencies due to otherworldly influence. Note this is very kid, so no one is special in that regard.
Terminal Type: Is it a gauntlet? Phone? Goggles?
Beast (Weapon): Current form the weapon takes.
Beast (Soul): What does your beast resemble? A creature of legend? An animal? What?
Jack didn't grow up like most crazy kids around him. And while he isn't the nicest kid on the block, Jack was born with a big heart. This is largely evident in the fact that the little rascal can't ever bring himself to turn a blind eye to those that are being bullied or oppressed. Constantly defending the weak and helpless eventually led him to develop a knack for fighting. Surprisingly, starting off weak and scrawny didn't stop the young boy from building himself up into quite the fighter. He had grown so much that he was able to take on multiple enemies that were bigger and stronger than him at once. It didn't take the kid too long to realize that he was gifted. In fact, the orange-haired boy was far more powerful than even the adults he grew up with. This caused Jack to gain a sense of arrogance; he'll often trash talk those he ends up fighting (not necessarily because of his cockiness, but more so because it allows him to keep a cool head and not have a nervous breakdown -- this is especially true against the angels and monsters that he will have to fight in the future).
With his newfound strength, Jack decided to join the journey to the mysterious Ivory Tower with the hopes that he'll be able to protect not just the ones he loves but the rest of humanity as well.

While we fade away from the bustling market where our benevolent giant resides, we spend what seems to be endless hours winding through the unfamiliar cobblestone streets. Slithering through the labyrinth of darkened streets and narrow passages until in this expansive city, we reach a place where the light rarely touches. There, beneath a fickle and flickering lamp, sitting upon her throne that marks her the queen of the underworld with a cunning and seductive smile is none other than I-Am-X. Calmly observing us with a yellowed iris beset upon harrowing black, her fanged grin only grows wider as her fingertip guides the rod that stirs a tall, thin glass of suspicious looking Red Wine. Here in the Dark, we exist temporarily in her Kingdom. A place where the unsavory sorts can find sanctuary, a black market, and often the tools of death, subtlety, and subterfuge.
Sliding her sultry fingertip upon the spine of a book, the tome seems almost alive as it shudders and props open to a blank, but weathered page. Dipping a sharpened fountain pen in ink, she takes her mark upon the leathery parchment after a sip of her Bloodied delicacy. Not a moment later for us, the innocent-minded folks living upon the streets above, she describes to us her next devilish machination.
So we got to be picky and not feed it all the time or the weapons will get weaker and thus unable to kill'em hmm?

I did look at soul sacrifice when I was thinking of this, but it's more Tokyo Ghoul-ish: you're only feeding a part of yourself, and it changes your whole body, so to speak.
If you're worried about that, I'll honestly just say don't join, I don't want you having to worry about more RPs.
You can still use the weapon, it's just only going to be used to kill a weakened demon, because your strength went beyond that of a normal humans, to the point where you can wrestle with deities and probably break their bones in the process.
The Dragon, the first child born of the generation, is completely corrupted.

You're humanoid. You have certain qualities of appearing human, but your skin might light or darken, you might grow fangs, your ears would grow, your hair disappear and replaced with horns, etc. etc.
It's different for each individual, but in most cases, you start to resemble a human version of the monster in your soul.
History: Growing up she was quite troublesome. There was hardly a time where she wasn't running some kind of scheme, whether it was scamming others out of money, stealing whatever caught her eye or just simply manipulating someone for her benefit, be it something she wants or just for amusement. For her, everything is an act and the world they live in is the stage. One is never sure who or what they'll get when dealing with her, as her frequent lies makes it hard for one to tell who the real Rin is. Like others of the age, she was (and still is) quite violent, when you find the right buttons to press that is, and when she's not pulling something, she loves teasing/taunting others and coaxing others into fights. Due to her actions and behavior, she is left alone most of the time.
Terminal Type: Gauntlet/Glove
Beast (Weapon): Kurenai - A long Katana
Beast (Soul): Monster Fox
Mask:
Spoiler
Something resembling a Kitsune Noh Mask.
Other: Doesn't like doing honest work and not keen on helping others.
