I agree that providing links to the scanlator's page with particular chapter for deleted titles would be great help.

 

Moreover, most of the removed manga is complete rubbish. You should be ashamed for even following these series.

So you're a moderator of website which provides people with content that in your opinion they should be ashamed of reading? Sounds like hypocrisy.

Would be nice if scanlators could post their progress on their titles. Cant DMCA that.

They do it on their websites / blogs.

Well i don't know, i haven't seen anything like that. I read those 26 chapters in like a day and that was about a week or 2 weeks ago. I just checked the scanlation group and they've only done it to that chapter.

 

And anyway about this whole matter, i understand Grumpy's position and the policy of this website, that's what makes batoto different from all the other ones, they respect the authors of mangas and their own values and as for all the taken down manhwas/mangas I'll just read them on another website or directly on the scanlation group's website, no biggy. It does suck but nothing we can do about it now except respect Grumpy's decision and move on.

It's Grumpy's policy and you guys telling him not too definitely isn't gonna make him change his mind.It's been Batoto policy to adhere to all requests no matter from who since day one whether it be the author's and their companies to the scanlators. Yeah it sucks but oh well. If he decides to keep the policy that's good for him. If he were to take the advice from most of the people on here he'd be no different than mangafox and the like. The reason most of us come here instead of mangafox is exactly because of these ideals and policies. If it's requested we take it down author or scanlator. If I wanted to read subpar or stolen work that can't be legally touched I'd go read over there. But I want to be able to help the scanlators even a little so I read here. It's as simple as that. Just my opinion if you feel different well then that's up to you.

In summary:

 

1) Batoto follows DMCA requests not just out of possible legal necessity, but due to our founding mission. We are completely aware of what is legally necessary and what isn't.

 

2) We'll try to get a better list of removed chapters up when we can, but since as of a couple days ago 2477 chapters were removed, and by different people at different times. Since this entire site is run by volunteers in their free time, it might be tomorrow or it might be awhile. Also, the takedown requests keep rolling in.

 

3) Please be respectful of all opinions, even if they aren't your own.
