I can't remember if this was stated in the manga before or not, but can ghouls get sick?

 

I don't think it was stated , ghouls get sick only if they eat normal food .

I don't see why they don't use the ghouls for warfare purposes. There's a war in a country send in the ghouls to fight :3

They can't even control them on the city, how in the battlefield? they will eat enemies and eat allies and probably escape.

Someone who knows a lot about genetics should come.
Hinami got lucky. I bet a Koukaku mixed with Ukaku would not turn out good.
But I guess in Touka's family the gene for being Ukaku is dominant. I hope I at least know that much about genetics lol. For the sake of passing it.

I'm also really interested in how ghouls would come about lol, but the author doesn't have to think that far.. It would be nice if he did though.
There wouldn't be really any reason for them only being able to eat human though, at least I think? Because I thought human meat actually isn't too different from other types. At least that's what I heard.
I don't think they would be drinking blood, just milk that obviously was made using human flesh.

Hinami was Koukaku mixed with Rinkaku. Touka and Ayato are from Koukaku/Ukaku parents but only inherited the Ukaku. Which really sucks for them I guess since it seems that ghouls even inherit kakuja kagune as their standard one from their parents if Owl is any indication. it had the same kagune as Yoshimura when it was younger(And he's also a kakuja), with the Ukaku that has two arm blades before it developed it's own kakuja with the 6 arm blades and a seemingly full covering that makes it's arms and legs look like 3 digit claws. Also it's kagune made it a giant somehow. Imagine if Touka or Ayato had inherited the full body armor from Arata and then evolved it into something more outrageous

I vote for alien parasites made to wipe out the intelligent lifeforms ( humans ) on earth.

The alien parasites ate their hosts body, but it seems some adapted and started eating others (ghouls) to survive. The aliens give up and move to the next planet. Meanwhile, people like Doctor Kanou play god, and control society by pitting ghouls and humans together. Kanou probably wants his finest creation to join him and Arima (who has been sterioding on ghoul blood or is Kuzen) in dominating the world.

This is probably a pointless thread, but I was just wondering about what everyone else s ideas are regarding ghoul biology and early life. Here are some of mine.

 

This is going to come off as really gross and maybe a little perverted,but I have a theory on ghoul babies. Since ghouls can only derive sustenance through human flesh, how can ghoul babies eat without teeth (I am assuming they are born much like humans since even dogs, who are mostly carnivorous, are born without teeth)? My gross little theory is that ghoul mothers's secrete blood through their breasts as opposed to milk. I know it sounds gross, but it makes sense if you think about ghouls in general.

 

My second theory is about kagune use. I was wondering if using their kagune is instinct or if it's something that they have to be taught to use. After some thought, I think that the majority of it must be instinct since we saw a young Touka attack an investigator with her ukaku in chapter 71. We don't know whether or not Ayato and Touka's father taught them how to use it, but judging by his overall behavior, it would not seem to be something he would be overly concerned about (especially since he seemed to want to coexist with people and only hunt when necessary). 

 

In chapter 34, Itori briefly went over the fact that only a ghoul mother and a ghoul father can naturally produce a ghoul, but she did not say anything about kagunes (aka RC types). Does a mother and father have to have the same type of kagune? Are there such things as recessive and dominant kagune types? After comparing notes on Hinami and Touka it appears that it is the luck of the draw in regards to what kind of kagune a ghoul child will inherit. The Kirishima siblings both have an ukaku kagune, but their father has a koukaku kagune (I am going be the TG wiki as a refresher, so I apologize if I am incorrect on any of the kagunes). Although not directly stated, we can assume that their mother was an ukaku type. The only thing that baffles me is hybrid kagunes like Hinami's (a mix of koukau and rinkaku). Her mother had a koukaku and her father had a rinkaku, so do some kagunes mix while others do not? 

 

Those are some my my thoughts anyone else have any ideas or questions?

After all, every kagune type is based from RC Cell, so the difference is caused by how RC-cell bond with each other, affected by untold biological subtance produced by ghoul itself similiar to how our blood type is affected by the number of antigen. Also it could be possible that eating the same ghoul can affect the number of those subtance in case if ghoul's body maintain the number of those subtance, and causing the mechanism of converting RC Cell into Kagune goes out of control and making the kagune emerging on the whole body instead.

On the other side, this topic didn't seem to touch anything regarding to the origin of "RC" name itself. Will it be helpful on solving this theory if we know how and why Scientist call it RC Cell?

The composition of the subtance itself could possibly make 4 entropy of kagune type, i think there's should be a subtance that make the rc cell harden or flexible like how our bones were created, also, probably kakuja itself is the malfunction caused by overconsuming those subtance(they said you be a kakuja if you continously ate ghoul, so probably it's related to the subtance that only ghoul can produce).

 

RC cell is Red cell cell, it's kinda funny tho but i think you're right XD...

     My theory is that the beginning of ghouls were humans who lived off cannibalism. Through only eating other humans they had received an abnormally high RC and over the course of constantly eating humans their hunger could only be satisfied when eating humans which creates a distaste for normal food and their bodies could no longer process normal food. Throughout many years as this kept carrying on they developed stronger bodies, their eyes would turn red, their bodies could recover from wounds faster, and their bodies mutated to have Kagune from absorbing all of the nutrients inside the parts they had eaten. After many years of this happening their RC count compared to normal humans would be substantially higher and if they tried to produce offspring with a normal human then the woman wouldn't be able to supply the baby with enough RC cells. If the female was a cannibalistic human then her body would react to the baby being a normal human and think of it as food. The term ghoul probably came across since because of their strengthened bodies no regular human could substantial damage to them and if one did then the ghoul would probably heal very quickly giving them the idea that they are near impossible to kill or unkillable. 

 

This is just pure speculation on my end and if someone else posted something similar I promise I didn't copy you... most likely...

Quick question about ghoul nails (sorry if this has been mentioned before): are they only black when their kakugans are activated? because iirc i think there were some ghouls that had black nails even though they were just chilling. I think.

I can't recall if the manager had black nails, but I think in Kaneki's case it's because of how Jason/Yamori tortured him (I remember he took all his nails off, it may come from that!)

Not to go off topic on area's of the body, but any ideas about the internal structure of a ghoul's brain? Seeing as Kaneki got stabbed through the head it brings up the question if a ghouls brain works slightly differently than a humans, as in are the sections of the brain slightly different? Usually anything would no doubt die if stabbed through the head twice, but as I still have hope that Kaneki will pull through somehow, are there any ideas? Even if not about how a ghouls and humans brain could be structured differently, maybe about how anyone could survive a injury to the head like that?
