[Will of NGE]

Oh my... how could I forget Redline. Redline was amaizing. Keep in mind when watching it that it was  ALL! hand drawn. The movie was in production for a ton of years. It turned out beautiful.

 

 

I'm thinking of trying these movies next:

 

Berserk movies

Madoka movies

Metropolis

Welcome to the Space Show

Steins Gate movie. (Need to watch the series though, so, this can wait)

Yeah, Perfect Blue is under Satoshi Kon. It's just so sad that he died early though.

He was doing one movie related to robots when he suddenly got ill. He finished the storyboards and everything and another director wanted to finish it. But it is not looking so good. They need more funds... I really want to see his last movie.

 

Besides that, Kite and Blood: The Last Vampire looks really nice.

You'll have to look around for Kite, there are a couple/few versions of it.....and yeah, extreme gore and violence (though I think most of that is present in all the versions) and the "uncut" version has actual x-rated content. Yeah, it's incredibly violent and intensely sad on top of it.

 

And yeah, the original Blood is awesome, incredibly intense.........a shame it was so short.

Kite has the same director as Mezzo Forte am I right? Dang.. The x-rated part really turns me off. It feels so unnecessary. I'll still probably watch it though.

 

Pokemon.. It kinda falls under the naruto/onepiece/bleach/detectiveconan - movie type. (The movie series thingy) e.g. Pokemon Movie 7, Naruto movie 9, one piece movie 6, detective conan movie 13...  I.. I don't know.

Tonight, I'm thinking of watching Blood: The Last Vampire.

Blood: The Last Vampire was pretty cool. I would have preferred 20 mins more... but eh. I'll take what I can get. It's pretty cool. Thanks for the recommendation.

Yes, he's actually been involved in a lot of big name anime......though yeah, I believe also as director on Mezzo Forte. It's actually quite often marketed as a joint product, I believe I've got a factory dvd around here somewhere that's exactly that, a double dvd w/Kite and Mezzo Forte together. 

 

One of his earliest (creative) works was actually one of the vignettes on the infamous "Cool Devices" hentai anthology. "Kite" was his main-stream adaptation of that work, which was called "Yellow Star". 

 

And yeah, believe it or not..........the hentai part (or the part I remember, I honestly don't remember if there was more than just the one scene) of "Kite" fits right in with the story, it could even be considered integral to the plot.

About Welcome to the Space Show. The visuals are definitely amazing. Those 2 hours felt like 6 though... About the story... I'd rather not say anything. I would say that it's targeted for kids though.

Ah, yeah, all I remember was from the aspect of the main character. And though I don't remember for sure, as I remember she was portrayed as high school aged. So yeah, I just don't remember any more is all.... or who was involved  

 

And while I stand by what I said about it (the scene/s I remember) and that it is integral to the MC's character.......I also won't sugar-coat it either. Flat-out, hard-core hentai, no ifs, ands or buts about it. As I said, a great movie......but not a happy one.
