[A Fairy Tail based RP]

Meister Fran Boisse - I mean, Grandmaester Fran Boisse (the title would take a moment to get hold, he felt) - walked through the empty halls of the building he had just bought. It was relatively small, but spacious. In his hand he carried the charters from the city of Singspiel and the charter from the Magic Association, granting him the right to start a Mage Guild in this beautiful seaside town. The man was rather old, but he didn't show it. It was only his features that could not resist the passage of time. His posture, on the other hand, remained upright as he walked against the current. His eyes remained bright with a mischievious energy. His hands, crooked slightly by what appeared to be arthritis nevertheless moved nimbly as he drummed on his sides, spelling out an old song he liked. 
 
"So... why did you do it? I never took you for someone who was particularly good with kids." a voice echoed down the hall. A lady in the doorframe, a sly smile on her face. 
 
Fran smiled back right at her.
 
"Well, you know Selena, there comes a time in the life of a man where he feels he has to impart what he knows. I feel I now have enough with hair for the task." he said, pulling at thinning hair on his head. 
 
"You have been gone for five years. Most of us thought you were dead. Where were you?" She asked, as she walked in, her eyes wandering around the room, her hand swatting away the rising dust.
 
"I did what we mages do - I wandered. We mages don't really have a place in this world. So we wander. But I'm getting old, Selena - rheumatism, arthritis - can you believe I now get up in the morning and my whole body aches? With a good walking stick I could walk across Freiburgs in a few days. Now I walk across town and I regret it by breakfast!" He shook his head disapprovingly. "I should have studied healing magic. I wouldn't have to suffer through old age!" he said, in good cheer.
 
"Well, I know a witch or two that could help you with that - can't say it will be cheap, though. ~ <3"
 
"Well, I better turn this guild into a proper racketeering scheme, then! Those bills won't pay themselves! Truly Boudin of Gold Gear knew what he was doing!"
 
They both laughed. Fran Boisse's tone became more serious.
 
"I will need your help, Selena. I cannot do this alone. I have other friends who will be joining us, but I will need you for this." He said, making direct eye contact with her.
 
"Of course. I am always happy to help." She said, warmly. She turned away, looking at the empty rooms. "What are you going to call it?"
 
"Four Winds. We come from all the directions, brought here by the winds of fortune. We might as well acknowledge our roots."
 
"Four Winds? I love it. How very much like you. ~ <3"
 
"Well, it never pretended to be able to top Flame Fire, but..."
 
They both laughed. Mostly at how Flame Fire was such a dumb name. 
 
 
Premise
Magic. The World is filled with it. There is magic in all things – and humans are no exception to this. But not all humans can naturally use magic. About 10 – 15 percent of the human population can reliably use such a power. Fortunately (or unfortunately), you are part of that group. Magic users were once reviled, but nowadays they have gained mainstream acceptance and even admired. You possess a rare gift - how you use it is up to you. 
You are young journeyman witch or wizard starting their apprenticeship in one of the many magic guilds of the land Freiburgs called Four Winds. The Grandmeister, Fran Boisse, has been advertising high and low in hope of attracting experienced mages and avid learners to the town of Singspiel, where he has made his his headquarter. A new life is about to begin for you - one adventure, and magic. It will emphasize personal growth and camaraderie in the face of danger and evil. Do you have what it takes to become a full fledge mage - and a full fledge person?

The subcontinent of Tellus is divided roughly in 3 parts: the north, the middle, and the south. There are 4 major cultures on the subcontinent – the Free Cities of Freiburgs to the North;  the Holy Imperium Byzance  in the middle;  The Altepetls of Thalassa and the Satrapies of Sarrasand. These are by no means homogenous cultures - they were once many, many nations in Tellus and for many these geographic entities are really just a political arrangement or a linguistic similarity. The most homogenous nation is arguably Thalassa, followed by Byzance - who pursued a deliberate policy of homogenization over the centuries, while Sarrasand and Freiburgs are a mess of people and cultures.

How to Play

This is a mission based RP. The Guild will be your hub and where missions will be posted in the main hall. Roleplayers will then split off in groups and achieve those missions. There will be a few kinds of mission.
 
[Monster Hunting]
Mana is a lifeforce. In high enough quantity, it will surge from the depths of the earth and generate what are usually called monsters. While magical creatures are simply normal animals and humans who have been affected by mana, monsters are creations of fantasy made reality by mana. These are called Spawn Points - and they are basically location were many is in such high concentration that it distorts reality and brings forth horrors. Creatures spawned from such a location feed on mana - which means they will almost inevitably hunt down rich sources of mana, such a humans, to sustain themselves. Mages, thanks to their high resistance to mana, are the only one who can defuse or destroy such a Spawn Point. A normal human will become a monster himself by entering such an area. Spawn Points may recede on their own, but that could take anywhere from a few hours to several years or even decades. It is speculated that there is a particularly potent Spawn Point in the wastes - hence the steady flow of monsters. 
 
Defense against individual monsters is often a low-level task for mages. Monsters are dangerous, but considered good training for journeymen/women witches and wizards. Taking down a Spawn Point, though, is a high level mission. 
 
[Tower Defense/Bodyguard]
The wizards or witches will be tasked to defend a particular person or position. Many people seek the services of mages to protect their person, especially when it is suspected that their foes may also wield magic. Classic escort mission or defend the flag kind of situations.
 
[Dark Guild]
Magic is power - literal power. Older than the guild system is a much older form of organization - organized crime. Magic mafioso are a serious plague on civil society and one of the major tasks as guild mage is to fight off and suppress the influence of these illegal wizards and witches. The Black Market for magic items and magical services is very strong - and very dangerous, as it enables the diffusion of highly dangerous magics in the world. Another mage is about the most dangerous thing a mage may face, and to fight a dark guild is not laughing matter. They are ruthless, skilled and powerful, and with a lot less compunctions about using illegal magic or items. Be careful. 
 
[Community Service]
Low danger tasks that exploits the magical abilities of magi for the sake of the community. Easy money and experience - usually. Standard quest type. 
 
[Training]
You don't always have to go on a mission. You can forego the financial rewards in order to refine your skills, practice your magic, or receive instructions from a higher level maester. 
 
[Socializing]
Or you could just chat and go get a coffee.

Q. Can I haz dragon slayer? :3
A. lolno - Longer answer: unfortunately, the continent of Tellus has a different relationship to dragons than that of Fiore. They don't teach dragonslayer magic. They act as mountain lords, or live deep beneath the earth where the deep caves under Tellus act as their underworld kingdom. It is said that there are many dragon lords in the wastes as well.  
 
Q. What about forbidden magic? D:
A.  /gives you an annoyed glance. Do you even have to ask? Anything that seems forbidden is also forbidden for you. I would also advise against obviously evil magic. You are the good guys, need I remind you.
 
Q. What about demonslaying? Godslaying? Vampireslaying? Slaying? D:D:D:D:
A. ...  No. No slaying. Who the balls goes around and teaches people how to kill them anyway?
 
Q. Can I start with 2 magic styles?
A. Yes, but you have to pay the 10 points to unlock it. Which means that you only have 15 points to spread over two skills with 4 stats each - and you still have to pour 1 points in each of those stats. It's not recommended, unless you have a way to go around that.

History:

Living as a runaway, Hana eventually found himself working at a traveling circus. The pay was lousy, he was overworked, forced to do menial tasks, and most he of the people he worked with showed him little to no respect. Despite this, not once did he complain; compared to his previous life, now he had a roof over his head and always had a warm meal at the end of the day. As the months passed, Hana's mundane lifestyle filled with mediocrity slowly got to him. However, considering their workplace's hierarchy, he was in no position to voice out his thoughts. Instead, to vent out his built up stress, he decided to seek an alternative way to do so. Eventually, Hana found acrobatics.

What started as hobby soon blossomed into what looked like inborn talent. In the span of a few weeks, Hana's skills as an acrobat flourished in all aspects and many caught notice of this. Soon enough, his line of work changed from common circus peon to an actual performer. As soon as this happened, all of those who had previously shunned and tormented him in the past suddenly started to treat him with differently; smiles were shared, compliments were given and for once, it was as if they saw Hana as their equal. He did not enjoy this at all. This only showed Hana how superficial, selfish, and fake people were. The only reason He could think of that would explain their sudden change in character was the fact that for once, he could be of use to them. This simply fortified his habit of distancing himself from others. However, despite these thoughts, he chose to not make this obvious to others. He would continue his life, seemingly accepting whatever others showed him, as long as in the end, he'd be the one with the upper hand.

Soon after, weeks turned to months and a year had already passed. Eventually, Hana grew weary of his life in the circus. It was dull, lacked meaning, and in all honesty, absolutely boring. Not wanting to waste anymore of his time, Hana soon fled the circus, in hopes of coming across something that was at least interesting.

As he journeyed through out Tellius, Hana crossed paths with an elderly magician named Galeo. He was a relic hunter by trade and explored ruins and abandoned excavation sites for a living. The idea of searching for magical artifacts was fascinating and caught Hana's attention. On thing lead to another, and in the end, the two agreed to travel together. However, there was a compromise. A prerequisite of being able to take on requests such as those usually taken by relic hunters was to be able to fend for oneself and to have a certain degree of knowledge regarding ancient languages and forgotten cultures. Hana had no difficulty fulfilling the former, but the same could not be said in regards of the latter. Luckily, Galeo had a solution for such a problem. He possessed an artifact, a bracelet that bore a blue gemstone reminiscent to that of an eye. Other than its unique appearance, to increase its peculiarity, it was imbued with a spell that would definitely cover up for whatever Hana's lacked.

Their journey together was short-lived and ended just after half a year. In this small amount of time, they cleared numerous missions, acquired several artifacts and faced significant of challenges along the way. When they parted, Galeo left Hana with three things: the ring he had lent him, an ancient scripture they had acquired during their travels, and instructions: learn magic and master the contents of the scripture and head to Freiburg and look for Fran Boisse.

 

Personality: Behind his laid-back, carefree and relaxed demeanor, is a self-centered and manipulative individual. Hana usually does whatever he wants as long as it pleases him in some way, only taking into consideration the opinion of others when it benefits himself. Sly yet playful, Hana enjoys taking risks and gambles as long as he ends up gaining something from his actions.

It allows the user to read at an incredible pace and decipher any written language whether texts or symbols. This is a Fairy Tail Rp. We do Fairy Tail things. Suppressing dark Guilds is a thing we do yes.

 

As for Law system since the setting is vaguely German/Italian, it's going to be Civil Law + whatever comes to mind. Possibly involving a lot more harsh punishments and stuff dealing with magic.

 

Species wise only humans are open to play.

History: Lot grew up in a fairly large city called Las Colinas. It is located not too far from Singspiel and the city is known for having the best mangoes in town. Sadly, Lot is not the biggest mango lover. He prefers oranges. Nevertheless, the child was always an adventurous one and he would often find himself journeying deep into the woods just on the outskirts of the city. There were many rumors surrounding this particular forest, the most notable one being the legend of the Diawolf.  It was often told that a great and powerful beast called the Diawolf resided in the forest and would randomly kill any poor and unsuspecting soul in just a moment's notice. Many people were warned to steer clear of the forest at all costs. Lot being the idiot that he is didn't fear this so called "Diawolf" and took the liberty of venturing through the forest during his free time. Surprisingly, the rumors actually turned out to be true and meeting the beast for the first time in person was nothing like he had anticipated. The werewolf stood, towering above the young child at a whopping 10 feet tall! Lot wasn't scurred though. He proceeded to challenge the beast to a death match.

 

To make a long story short, the crazy kid somehow managed to overcome the Diawolf and unwittingly discovered his latent magical ability: Take Over Magic. 

 

It wasn't too long after this event that Lot stumbled across a brand new guild called Four Winds.

 

Personality: Lot is cocky individual with a general carefree and goofy attitude. One of the main reasons he joined Four Winds was so he could meet other strong and powerful wizards. He is constantly challenging his fellow guild mates with the hopes of fighting them, improving himself, and growing as a wizard. He also likes good food and pretty women. All of this to say he always puts his friends above all else and will die for his guild.

[Take Over: Beast Soul - Diawolf] [300] – Take Over magic allows the user to literally "take over" the power or body of another entity to fight. The Beast Soul: Diawolf is an incredibly powerful werewolf that is extremely fast and robust. It is able to decimate enemies with relative ease.

Also on another note, What system are you basing the spell and Magic structure. d20? WoW? or the ones in Manga?

There's not actually a standardized magic form. It's heavily personalized. It's your magic. It's your style. You can draw from different sources to make up the magic you want. 

Just remember that the mana you use comes from your body and from the external environment. Some styles favour the mana in your body, others favour environmental mana.
