Been here a while, love manga and anime, not necessarily in that order.

My first Manga was Nausicaa and the valley of the wind, early 90's. First anime, (this dates me) Astro boy late 50's, or early 60's. Saturday morning cartoons. We only had three channels to choose from, and they only showed cartoons on Saturday morning.

And yes, we walked barefoot up hill in six feet of snow to school, even in july...Both ways!

I'm David, i taught 8th grade English in Muskogee Oklahoma.abouts five to ten years. Knees gave out, couldn't do the standing bit, and had to quit.

Welcome to your Batoto de-lurk, Jindg Mikuriya/David. I've logged some years in OKC and my mom grew up in Ponca City, OK. I'm afraid I didn't like Astro Boy much back when there were only 3 channels. Nausicaa is the only manga I have in hard copy (plus a bunch of English language graphic novels my wife bought or received for review). Did some teaching too, though mostly boy scouts, college students and Neopagans. Hope to see you around.

edit: Bicycling to elementary school in Oklahoma, the wind blew so hard out of the south that most days it'd take a half hour to get to school and only 10 minutes to get home! And no the school district didn't believe in buses for neighborhood schools.

An Oklahoman, hmm? I have family out there. And it's where my mom grew up. <: Gotten any hail yet this summer? I've been seeing all sorts of impressive pictures...but I think those were from the Dakotas somewhere....
