[Diabolical Rhapsody]

This is the OOC thread for the rebooted RP under the new GM. All character sheets, disscusions, idle chatter and questions go in here.

Geographical Setting - Mountainous forests on the North and west sides. Harbor in the east and the single road into the mainland runs down south. Sort of like the last inhabited town in the north.

Locations - Town planning: Major areas

• Town Center - Houses the governmental offices for the mayor and other important folks. Plus, primary post office and central library is here.

• Harbor - Houses the major sea-food joints and other sea related businesses. also has a large shipyard.

• Suburbs - Single storied colonial era housing most of the original residents and people with farming backgrounds live here. Near the Jungles of the West

• New Aldo - The area with high-rise apartments and shopping districts. Only a few business houses are major players on this scene. Near Town center.

• St.John’s Elementary and High School - for school going RPers and other NPCs and citizens, near the university and Magnussen Wildlife Reserve.

• St.Helen’s University

• Magnussen Wildlife Reserve - The area covering the base of the mountains and the entire northern boundary of the town.

• Four main roads: Carter Rd., Runs North-South, the longest and the only road out into the continent. Bailey Rd., Runs West from Town Center to the suburbs and the jungles. Harbor Rd. connects the harbor and Town Center. Weston Rd. runs North-west to Southeast, the other heavy traffic road.

• Police Station and Fire Department - Fully equipped, situated in the Town Center main building.

• Aldo Central Bank

• Attila’s Den - The largest casino in the town. Annual turnover is around 100 million Euros.

 

Special notes #1: Police.

Aldo police has a reputation for being ruthless and cold. They usually fire first and ask later. All patrol officers and regular officers are armed with SWAT spec while the SWAT unit generally uses army spec. They have a sterling record with the last robbery happening 12 years ago.

Excessive skewing or ‘Glass Cannon’ build will ensure certain death as the body won’t be able to manage functioning. So a guy with 2 Toughness and 750 Mental fortitude will die from brain haemorrhage, so put points carefully.

Important consideration while character making:

Every RPer starting as a teenager or young adult (< 30 years) will have 15 attribute points in the beginning. With all the listed ones assigned equal value, i.e 3 each. Their first Dice role will have a number range of 4-6.

Every RPer making a character an adult (>30 Years) will have 20 Starting attributes in the beginning. With all listed 4. The first Dice rolled with have value 1-3. The values will change for chibis, ex-army enforcers and the like in the assigned range.

 

But, value = 1 is considered child, 3 is considered teen and 4 is considered adult. Choose carefully.

Hmm.. would you mind telling me what does each attributes do? And how many points can we allocate from the start? Or should we wait for the first dice roll?

Submit in your sheets first, tell me how you got the first dice. i'll e your accepted give you the value first and then you can update the sheet with the values in the attribute section.

 

Toughness: Hits you can take before going to ground. 

 

Eg; Toughness - 1 = regular child (9-13)

 toughness - 100 = Shaolin Monk with 10 year experience.

toughness - 1000 = super-human, think juggernaut

toughness - 2050 = Zeus

Mental fortitude : Combines your intelligence with emotional balance.

 

Physical fortitude: Strength and Resilience

 

Stamina is stamina

 

Agility and reflexes = self-explanatory

 

Special Ability: begins with zero and maximum attainable are 3. Hulk super jump is one ability the point allocations work a bit differently here. 10 Dice points increases the ability by 1. after reaching 10, the attributes needed for next level up is 50.

 

So a person with special ability super jump at 12 will be easily able to jump over Taipei 101 and land safely.

provided your reasoning is sound enough, you can further branch out the basic attribute set.

 

Eg: Fay needs to enhance his Physical fortitude but just the legs, he can do that  with edit entry

 

PF (Overall) - 100

PF (Legs) - 120

 

but keep in mind that going into more specifics and maxing them out is not advisable, if the difference between the specific is too large, physical injuries may be sustained.

 

Eg: Fay has PF (OA) - 50 and PF (Arms) - 250 then his arms won't be able to be maintained by the body and as a result become useless. Even though the character will have bone-crushing strength he would not be able to grip a can of cola.

If there were people who were favored by the goddess of beauty, Ruui would probably be one of them. When you see him, the first thing that would catch your eyes would be how pale he is. His skin is uncannily white, almost as if it were translucent. The second thing you would notice would probably be his long, silky straight hair. It grows to his waist, and is usually worn in a ponytail. The most interesting thing from it, though, is its color: deep, deep black that seemed to absorb any light that landed on it. The last feature, and probably the most beautiful as of yet, would be the color of his irises: deep, vivid blue that reminds you of the sea. Most people find his stares.. Mesmerizing, for the lack of better word.

 

What makes people stare at her a little bit too long, however, is none of the above. It was his gender ambiguity. Standing at 5'4" and having slender build often garbed in layered clothing that hides body contour, it is very hard to determine Ruui's gender from sight alone. The fact that he rarely speaks at all does not help either. Worse still, he is not old enough to be registered as a proper citizen, and thus did not carry any ID card with him. And to top it off, Ruui had entered BOTH all-girls school and all-boys school in his academic record. Quite a mystery.

 

Personality:

Ruui is a very silent and reserved person. He rarely, if ever at all, speaks in public. Instead, he would prefer to communicate with others using notes and texts (if there are no papers and/or pen around). He is generally aloof and detached from the society, and is a bit opportunistic too. It is safe to presume that he only cares for himself and his uncle. If he ever hold any semblance of emotions for anybody aside from himself and his uncle, he certainly did a very good job at hiding them. People would sometimes link that to the fact that he suffered autism on his early childhood. Others would blame the bullying he had always received from his classmates due to his.. Unusual appearance. Perhaps, it was a mixture of both. Or neither. Nobody really knows. Not even Ruui himself knows.

 

History:

Ruui was born to a rather poor family in the suburbs of Western Aldo. When he was two, both his parents died in a fire accident. It was then that his mother's younger brother took him as his own child. Unmarried and unable to hire a maid to help with house chores, Ruui's uncle was forced to neglect Ruui as a child. He would try to spend as much time together with his sister's beloved child, of course, but his day job could only give him so much leeway. Alas, he needs to be away for the most part of the day.

 

At first, his uncle thought that entering Ruui into a school dorm would be a good idea. The young kid would not be alone for most of the day, and would also be in a conducive environment to further his studies. Thus, when he heard of the news that Ruui was terribly bullied by his dorm mates, his uncle was really shocked. It was then that he then decided to move Ruui to another school to avoid more bullying, and to live together with his sister's child despite all the inconveniences.

 

They have been living together in a small apartment in New Aldo ever since.

Nopes. Your total stats are 15 in base. 200% increase puts it at 45. So if any stats become 45 while all others are 3. You will die most probably. Let me worry about it. The moment you get close to the limit, i'll warn you. After that it is your choice to heed my advice or not.

An european male with average Pallor-Caucasian skin (using http://www.hirescovers.net/tutorials/bandw/chart.png for reference), brown hair and brown eyes , height of about 173 cm with a slender build.In other words nothing too eye-catching besides the fact that he's a foreigner.


Personality:

Lukahz is mostly a silent and reserved person. He rarely speaks in public.Being somewhat anti-social he prefers to spend time playing games or reading interesting stories although both are mostly in the fantasy genre. He is generally aloof and detached from the society but still has a few good friends with whom he would hang out once in a while or play online with.While he generally stays from conversations with most people,his displays are usually vivid, as oposing to his usual dark coloured cloths, unless a serious matter is at hand.He is however, still marked as a cynical and precautious person, sometimes bordering paranoia.While often being a benign person his few friends know that his mentality sometimes does a 180 degree flip, leading to the understanding that he is benign by the public,but in reality not even his friends are entirely sure how he thinks.His closest friend is also privy of the fact that while Lukahz has normal urges, he is largely uninterested in any sort of sexual matters and he wishes to increase his pain threshold.He always seeks to have fun and sometimes when something is not fun he manages to flip his mentality and take even the greatest of tragedies and failures as fun.



History:

Lukahz Nhu was born in a middle-class family in East Europe.While he was in kindergarden he once tripped on the ruber floor and scratches his palm severely, to the point thatthey were wholly coverd in blood, while unnoticing any pain besides a small itch he showed them to the female warden which gave her a huge scare and caused her to look for the medical staff.The boy was anxiously not because of any uncomfortableness but because of all the panick he cauased.Lukahz used to get in fights in the past but that ceased to happen when he changed school after 7th grade.After that he was midly bullied but it stopped abruptly after a few weeks.

Lukahz is now living in a small appartment while studying programming in the university of New Aldo after he decided that he'd like to move in a not too-big town/city with decent perspective for education.Not long after the moving on his way back from the university he spotted a flash near the sidewalk on the street and with the inner exclamation "OMG SHINY!" he walked to the source of the flash to discover a fairly big blue dice and decided to keep it since it looked nice and he had a lot of free space on his desk.

I'd also like to ask as to how exacly do we limit the special abilities?Because someone can just waltz in and say "My special ability is to convert a very small ammount of mass into energy" and convert 1 gram of mass into energy comparable to 22 000 kg TNT (if I remember the numbers correctly).

Well Special Abilities work as gradual progression. What you say can still be possible. But usually I'll have the final say.

 

The Special Ability system works like this.

 

On each successive Level, the first stat that breaks the limit of the new Level will get to choose or make up a skill of around that level.

 

Eg: Consider Edge as a character with a liking for Physical Fortitude, once your total value crosses 50 (that is where Level 2 begins) You'll unlock an ability with a level 2 in mind. Since your was Physical and you like Hulk, so Say a 3m radius Hulk Smash is possible with your ability level.

At Level 3 if you wanna upgrade your style further, you unlock Shockwave. So on and so forth.

Diabolical is this CS okay?

Name: Alan Ku

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Appearance: Alan’s face has no sign of blemishes on his face and is tanned brown. He is physically fit and his muscles are toned from years of swimming and martial arts. His hair is a bit of an amber color a side effect from the chlorine in the pool. Other than that his hair is a dark brown color. His eyes are chocolatey brown and stands at around 6 ft tall.

Alan when not practicing he is never seen without his signature headphones, these being either being around his neck when he is not using it or over his ears. He almost always wears a zip up hoodie, jeans and a shirt. He doesn’t really have a fashion sense but he always somehow manages to attract attention when walking by.

Personality: Alan is an out-going person and is always fun for the next person around him to hang out with. But there is always something odd about him just staring looking out into the distance, like he’s always looking for something that can’t be seen. He is a kind person but is also very inquisitive sometimes almost to the point of being rude but he never steps out that far. He is always polite in front of adults but when he isn’t distracted he’s the life of the party with his friends.

History: Alan was born in Aldo with his parents, his parent’s income was enough to satisfy all their needs and a bit more. (Kinda like upper middle class) Alan was a smart child when he was young, he would always run around and look at all the animals and bugs in the backyard. When he reached the age of 6 and went to elementary school he made friends with anybody talked with, everybody knew him or at least of him. He was one of the “popular” people in school no matter where he went. He took up martial arts when he turned 7 and has gone quite far with it to have been able to get his black belt at the age of 16. He joined the swim team when he was 8 because as a child he was always fascinated with the pool or water, and not to mention he was a decent swimmer, not the best but certainly not the worst. When he turned 17 his parents figured they could trust him to live alone after all in their eyes he was a prodigy. To this day he has been living alone by himself in an apartment with his parents sending him money by the week so he can support himself.

Appearance: 5'4", lean build, usually wears blue hoodie jacket with long sleeves, beige shorts, and black/red rubber shoes. short blond hair. Hands usually in pocket. And wears glasses.

 

Personality: Utilitarian. Helps others in need just as long its for the greater good. Doesn't like direct conflicts due to both sides losing something. Silent at times, loud at other times (by saying (un)funny things). Always thinks things through before acting.  Always seem to be daydreaming. Secretly regrets his own weakness and not saving Toshi. Always smiles in the presence of others, hiding his past. Doesn't like anyone knowing too much about him. Moves quick, lacks strength, makes it up for versatility and ingenuity. Can't hold long conversations, awkward speaker.
 

History: Son of one of the original stakeholder families of the Magnussen Wildlife Reserve. Deceased mother (due to birth of younger sister) and has one 2 years younger sister. Have been taught to survive in the wilderness and hunt for food. Got average grades in elementary and is now studying in high school, 2nd year student. Newest member in the archery club, and owns his own set of bow and arrows.
 

At 13 years old, met a guy named Toshi and became very close friends. Always hanged out together. Toshi seems to be different from others as he is above average in all aspects.

3 years prior to present time: At 3pm on a Sunday, Athenril and Toshi went to the Wildlife Reserve to wander around. Athenril brought his bow and arrows just to be safe. A few hours passed, they didn't realized they have stumbled upon the boundary of the reserve and the jungle. Toshi rested for a moment while Athenril explored a little bit more alone. Was ambushed by a lion belonging to the jungle and got knocked down, while the bow got thrown a few meters away. The lion was about to finished Athenril when Toshi suddenly came and interrupted the lion. Faze for a moment while Toshi battled the lion, Athenril suddenly remembered the bow, and rush for it. When he got to the bow and turned to aim at the lion, he saw Toshi lying down with his arm ripped off and the lion ready to pounce on him. Athenril readied the bow as fast as he can and shoots just in time to save Toshi. Athenril hurried to Toshi's side, and Toshi gave him his first dice, along with his last words "Take care of yourself." Afterwards, Athenril became more silent and reserved, speaking only when spoken to and joined the Archery club with the regret of not being strong enough. He kept the dice with him, not knowing what it was until now.
