are comics published here in batoto the "authentically published" ones only?

or are webcomics allowed? (comics made by indie artists and are posted online)

With reservations based on the content, I believe we do allow self-published and indie work to be uploaded. Some examples are listed here: http://vatoto.com/comic/_/sp/

As long as the author/artist allowed you to disturbs their work. You are forever welcome to upload them.

You may also upload your own work at Batoto too~^^~

Most of the comics in the link I provided earlier are self-published content. Basically, you upload them as you would a normal comic, with the difference being you assign the category as "Self-Published" rather than "Scanlation". So you need to add the comic first before adding a chapter.

The link you provided doesn't help him know where to actually put the work he will be uploading to

the correct place~ It is pretty old and need an update~

The tutorial only show members about adding vol/title/sort number/groups.

It didn't touch on the very first thing that appears on the upload page. Since the thread was created with the old system(?)in mind, the first part

which is Category is missing.

The default of Category will be "scanlations".

 

Explanation :

Because most members who upload releases that are mostly from scanlation groups,

They will most likely ignore the first part of the upload page which is Category.

The Category part will always have an default on "scanlations". You need to click

on the drop-down menu and select "Self-published".

Then you fill in the other part of the upload with vol,title,chapters..etc.

 

The way read any Self-publish work or to see the two categories under comic:

Whether on the home page on Batoto. net or  "comic" page,

click on the little list icon on the top right of the page.

It will pop-up an "Quick navigation" menu box.

And since on the left it is already on the HOME Tab, just look for "Comic Directory" on the right.

click on the link will bring you to two categories " Scanlations"  "Self-Published" .
