Hello lightning here. Wasn't too sure if I should start a new SAO thread but the first one was started a year and a half ago. Nonetheless, I just watched the trailer for SAO II. For those too lazy to look it up, embedded Youtube below:

Wondering if I could hear some thoughts. It likely going to come out in Fall or Winter of 2014 since it isn't in the Spring line-up and it says its going to start on 2014. Personally, the thing that bugged me the most was the name. Think about it for a minute... "Sword Art Online II"... [sarcasm]So original[/sarcasm] ...be like every other company when they release a sequel and can't think of a name. How about "Sword Art Online - Phantom Bullet"? Y'know, just the actual freaking name to the arc!! I would sound so cool and actually be original. Other than that, the animation looks okay. Hope they add more drama/suspense though. The Aincrad Arc started out so promising but it lacked the suspence as compared to the LN.

I realized that there are two sides of people who have seen SAO, those who hate it, and those who love it, I'm one of those people hate it so ew SAO season 2...

Hmm... Don't hate it but the novel was much better. I felt that the anime left too much stuff out. Great example would be how did he get his Anneal Blade? Explained in the novel but not in the anime. Another one would be what happened to the Laughing Coffin after Kuradeel died? Novel explained it as well but it was completely left out in the anime. Just bugs me when so much is left out.

I don't hate SAO. I just think that Aincrad arc is the only good thing about it. And  the game was called Sword Art Online, so SAO is SAO, everything else does not exist in my reality.

First season of Sao was good but after the next where they turn into fairies and stuff things went downhill. And of course I hated it.

Hmm. I Can't say I'm excited to see the upcoming one. Though I agree novel story is great.

Blatant fanservice is disgusting and I have pretty much with pleasure dropped every series that uses it on a regular basis.

If only I could find a quote about it.... I know I've seen it somewhere...

Also, larger the breasts, more easier it is to drop a series. Things like useless shows of sexuality just piss me off and show me that something is bad enough to seriously relly on something like fanservice.

I watched the aincrad arc and stopped midway cause I was planning on marathoning the latter half of the show. I'm so damn glad that I didn't get around to do it cause I heard that the second arc sucked badly. But I'm willing to give the second season the benefit of the doubt, cause I read from another article that there's better characterization with the new girl and the main character Kirito (he still going to be OP though from what I've read).

 

Although I have to say that the trailer kind of sucked, nothing to show us except the new girl and her ass.

Can't wait for this!!! Sword Arts On-line is my favourite anime together with Code Geeas and Attack of Titans.

I find the name alright and the trailer pumped me real hard.

So how do you deal with the Alfheim arc being a disaster?

While I didn't hate the Fairy Dance arc, I felt it could have been done a lot better. There could have been a lot more drama and action put into it. An example could have been when they never explained why Suguha has such a brocon. I don't know... Little things like that make an anime worth while.
