Well it won't make much sense and it will further undermine his eroding authority. Since he has little to no skill in magic. So I am unsure as what to do. I think in the end I'll let the child hang mid-air and finish the dishes for the ceremony.

Since I can't think of anything for Rayne in this RP, I'm just going wait to see if fay gives an update I can work with, if not she'll just be a minor character and lurk in the background for awhile. Since that bit with her using an excuse to get out of cooking, it can just be assumed she never returned to the classroom (which I put that put I intended for her to ditch so she wouldn't have to cook anyway) and vanished somewhere and hasn't been seen. Should help faciliate my character's disappearence from the RP or whatever.
