So, fellow smartphone owners. (Note: you'll probably need a smartphone that's from at least the past year or past 2 years, such as the Samsung S2/3/4 or LG Optimus series.) Are you bored? Do you have an inclination towards anthropomorphized monster girls and bad English? (I know I'm not selling this very well, just bear with me for the moment. Okay, I'll try again...)
Bored? Own a smartphone from the last year or two? Like anime/manga styled art? Enjoy online battle-themed card games?
Then Valkyrie Crusade is for you!
A Brief(-ish) Intro
What is Valkyrie Crusade?
Valkyrie Crusade is an online battle card game which allows you to obtain cards representing different types of spirits/daemons/monsters in the form of (don't laugh) cute, moe girls. It has one of the fastest-growing online battle card communities, and has recently reached 1 million individual players. It's free to play, and although it's technically freemium, the leveling system is fast-paced enough for you to not have to pay to win. Not that there's much "winning" to be done, since advancement through the game is very individualized and more PvE-focused (player vs. environment) than PvP-focused (player vs. player). So everybody wins, I suppose.
What makes this game different from other games (Ayakashi Ghost Guild, Tower of Saviors etc.)?
Valkyrie Crusade is unique in that it is essentially two games in one: there is a card battling system in place, as well as a city building system. You can use resources obtained from factories in the city to bolster your card forces (certain structures may also help boost card stats), and in turn, leveling up through campaign battles can allow you to build more structures in the city. Each system is dependent on the other, which may make the game hard to play for some, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes a very, very fun diversion. And plus, the art is of a very, very high standard. In my opinion, there's only one other card game that can match Valkyrie Crusade in terms of anime-styled art, which is Ayakashi Ghost Guild. But Ayakashi falls far behind in terms of engaging gameplay.
NOTE: Don't read the below if you hate TL;DR, get bored easily, or haven't installed the game yet.

Summary/guide of the card battling system
There are three fusion systems in place: (normal) Fusion, Evolution and Amalgamation. Fusion simply gives the main card exp when other cards are fused into the main card. Evolution is exactly what it sounds like: the card becomes a better version of the original. Amalgamation is a special type of fusion: two cards may be amalgamated to form a third card. It's quite exciting.
Cards are sorted into five types: Light, Dark, Passion (fire), Cool (ice), and Fusion. Light and Dark are effective against each other, Cool and Passion are effective against each other. Simple. Fusion-type cards give more exp when used to fuse.
Cards are sorted into six rarity levels: N (normal), HN (higher normal), R (rare), HR (higher rare), SR (super rare), HSR (higher super rare). Evolved Ns become HNs, evolved Rs become HRs, evolved SRs become HSRs.
Each card has a separate skill that can be "invoked" in battles by pressing the card once the "invoke" appears. Skills differ in that they may give extra ATK (attack) or DEF (defense), or attack the enemy card(s) or lower the enemy ATK and DEF, or do something else. These skills may be leveled up by means of "Rare Medals" that you can obtain by selling R-or-above-level cards.
Archwitches are special rare cards that appear from time to time. You may fight these by yourself and obtain cards as rewards, or ask for "Reinforcements" in the form of your other friends or comrades. Most archwitches are SR level, so you can expect a good card should you ever obtain the archwitch itself as a post-battle reward. They only stay for 2 hours though, so kill them fast.
There are "Sacred Treasures" that you can pick up throughout the course of the campaign. Combine these treasures to get rare cards!
You may sort your cards into 3 attack units and 1 defense unit. The defense unit defends against people trying to steal your sacred treasures. Attack units attack anything you can attack, from enemies and archwitches, to other players. Note that you can only use one attack unit per battle. However, you can switch units between battles.
There are special events that may open up new maps that differ from the normal Campaign map. New cards are also introduced every time a new event is created. As you can tell, Valkyrie Crusade has a lot of different cards.
You cannot trade cards. You can only sell/upgrade them. You can also donate them to the alliance that you join. Donating enough cards will unlock exclusive cards.
Summary/guide of the city building system
The city building system is pretty standard. There are three resources: Gold, Ether, Iron. There are factories that can be built and leveled up to generate these resources. There are storehouses that can be built and leveled to increase the maximum capacity of these resources. Each building costs a certain amount - both to build and level up - of any of these three resources.
By "reinforcing" your cards using all three resources at once (1 "soldier" = 1 gold + 1 ether + 1 iron), you can give them more health and strength to fight enemy cards in campaigns. Note that once enemy cards hit your cards, they take away some of the "soldiers" and thus your resources. So you must keep "reinforcing" your cards' soldiers. Note that archwitch battles only deduct "soldiers" throughout the course of the battle, and all cards are returned to pre-battle condition once the battle is over. Think of "soldiers" as "health" and "ammo" bundled into one card-based resource.
Some buildings give special bonuses, e.g. lowered soldier costs, increased damage by cards, etc.
The city may be expanded by buying the land surrounding the city.
There is an Alliance Hall that can be built if you join an alliance. (Join mine!)
You can swap resources using the Market.
There are a number of decorative buildings that serve no purpose, but look nice when you build them. (I haven't built any.)
For more questions, PM me! Though I trust most of you probably ran away after seeing this wall of text. Don't blame me, okay? I was bored, so I got typing.
Typical campaign screen (You press that big green "Advance" button to advance into the territory. Simple! Careful though, you have health, or "Vitality", as seen in the top left corner. Vitality will be deducted (-3 in this case) with each advance, and regenerates quite slowly.)
Archwitch battle (I got my ass handed to me soon after... note the big star on top of the card which indicates a skill or "invoke". Also note the rain and shit.)

The Main Question
Why did you post this long-ass thread?
Because the guild was getting quiet, and I wanted to see if anyone else in Batoto was interested/was already playing. Hehehe... *gets stabbed*
This thread may be used as a discussion thread for existing players, or as a Q&A for new players/interested people. I'll answer most questions. Most. XD
