Well I followed it simply because of all the talk of loosing interest and no plot furtherance, so i thought I'll keep my side-character to minimum since that may discourage the main posters with reading a wall of text that they have no interest in
I as well XD
idk, i just thought maybe some people would like the option of having to read through a minor plot and having the summary.
Choice is nice, after all.
also, those that might want to jump in or something may have an easier time with the summaries. ^^
maybe if it's a major occurence like when a minor character like mine happens to interact with a major one, I wouldn't bother putting spoiler tags though.

I second that, and have followed through with my interaction with Taka,
I shall be back to tagging when I'm through with him.

Through the vast entity that is the Internet, we now find ourselves in an unfamiliar place. A place of new faces, new personalities, and new adventurers alike. This place is the new home of our motley crew, and it is called Batoto. Here, as we meander through bustling streets and cobblestone draped markets, we find the first new person we will meet this day. Diabolical Rhapsody. What is so curious and is immediately the most noticeable thing about this shy soul is his height. Towering over eight feet high and sporting a two-handed mace that weighs more than some men, one would expect this scraggly bearded giant to be a savage barbarian. Yet those who dare try to scratch the surface a touch soon find a kind soul who so earnestly aims to please. Accompanying the vodka that he drinks and sings softly to is a pen quill made of the finest eagle's feather. His tools of imagination and creation, the studious giant fervently writes his passages for us all to see.
why are you all taking this so seriously? why are there rules if half of them are common sense and half of them are ignored? why do you bother arguing with me? you're trying to defend an RP thread?
it's granted that y'all will never answer these questions. especially you, inumori. you think i'm picking a fight. i think i'm getting out of here with as little words as needed to tie up loose ends and shut the mouths of the people who complain about one leaver. ONE. *cough*X*cough*
i will never understand why i became public enemy number one the moment i compared this thread to an INCREDIBLY SIMILAR war RP thread. it was going to be fun. it was going to be different. but y'all ruined it. thank you.
No I don't. It's not even kind of picking a fight. It was you running away after whining and offering a pointless gripe about another thread you abandoned. There was nothing constructive said. There was nothing discussed.
I'm not pissed at what you said Vis. I'm pissed at what you didn't, and still haven't bothered to. I'm pissed that you went through all that trouble to make such a terrific character TWICE and are once again leaving it all behind. Most of all I'm pissed that when you became upset you reacted like you have no say in anything. It's a group effort and you treated yourself like an outsider simply being allowed to participate instead of as part of the group.
As for your answers.
1."why are you all taking this so seriously?"
I take it seriously because I'd like to enjoy the time I spend on the batoto forums and not deal with the kind of nonsense I wade through before I get home.
2."why are there rules if half of them are common sense and half are ignored?"
Because common sense is about as common as a flawless green diamond and a lot of people don't know the difference between immortality and invincibility.
3."why do you bother arguing with me?"
When someone posts an opinionated statement you can either agree, disagree, ignore it entirely as though the person simply didn't matter enough, or never post again. I don't run away and I don't treat people like their words don't matter so when I agree or disagree I damn well say it.
4. "you're trying to defend an RP thread?"
No, I'm trying to keep you here long enough for someone to find a way to make this enjoyable for you again.

In other news a medical screw-up has ensured I will be getting sicker and more pained over the next few days and my mood will be deteriorating along with my health. This post was a bit more blunt and mean than I generally allow myself to be so I'll be staying away from batoto until I get better. If anyone feels like responding to this please keep in mind I won't be around for a few days so schedule your retorts accordingly.
In the interest of not seeming like I'm hypocritically running away I'll still be checking and responding to PMs through tomorrow but keep in mind I will not be of a pleasant sort for the above reason.
Treading into the thick line of the forest, we leave civilization as we know it behind us for many leagues before finally arriving with the next member of our humble abode. At first, we hear not a whisper in the sanctity of the woods' silence. With the night drawing in, the stars begin to glisten in the sky with numbers greater than we could ever imagine; soon after, the bite of the cool autumn breeze carries with it the hint of a sound to break the stillness in the air. A dull thud, the sound of an axe dividing wood, and the inviting scent of burning leaves leads us into a small clearing. There, built by the rough, but gentle hands of its owner is a wooden cabin, and outside of it stands our Inumori. Hefting a woodcutting axe over his shoulder whose handle has been worn smooth by many years of use, he graciously invites us inward into his home.
Within it we find a crackling fire heating the humble, but comfortable home within it's cast iron prison. Lit by mere candlelight, the eyes of a bear-skin rug seem to glisten as he dusts his hands off against his red and black flannel shirt before sitting and pouring a warm pitcher of mead for each of his guests. With enrapturing eyes that portray a wisdom far greater than his years would state, he begins to tell us his tale. There, as we sit and converse, he tells us of life and what he believes is the meaning of it, love, and loves lost. Yet there is a hint of peculiar magic in this home, the magic that is within nature and all things itself that he lives consciously beside, as a simple pencil marks his words down upon a roughly paged journal for all of us to partake in his wisdom with.

I'm not going to debate someone's right to up and leave.
And I'm not going to click through a bunch of spoiler tags, because everyone is trying to be 'oh so' accommodating.
Apparently confrontation is a dirty word. Forgive me then, for being so primitive. If you guys would rather get along than stand-up for yourselves, new people, that's fine. But I'm not going to sit here and read it. I'm out, and I'm not coming back. I'll make one post to tie everything up but that's it. Feel free to disagree. In five posts to a page, it won't even matter.
...wait, let me put it in a spoiler so those who don't want to read this can keep on their merry way. Ridiculous.

"Power is our currency, our DNA... Our God.”
"We control the World."
"We provide the blueprint. And we give the Instructions."
If I'm making things worse, I am sorry. I just wanted to help remedy the situations.
From what I get from Vis's post, the problem is that there are not many things going on (hence the lack of chance to develop one's characters)
But a lot of posts means it'll be hard for people who are left behind to catch up, and it will pose another problem
If my idea is not working, then I'm begging you people: please, let us think of a solution together. This is a place for us to have fun, for hell's sake.

Honestly, I don't enjoy arguments... but I don't like being called a push-over either.
So here are my thoughts.
Look, the reason why the spoiler tags are present is to make the story easier to follow.
We're only trying to keep the thread together, since there are people out there who still want to RP it.
This is just a system to minimize the clutter, while furthering our own character development.
It's for aesthetic reasons, not altruism.
Also, it seems that the main argument is the problem of god-modding and the lack of plot.
I guess there were far too much ideas that weren't implemented effectively. Good ideas aren't guaranteed successes.
However, in an RP filled with god-like characters, there wouldn't be much incentive to be a normal human if everyone is just intent on beating each other up. I'm assuming a lot of people who joined are more interested in writing fight scenes or something. That's cool, and I respect that.
If Vis leaves, then he is entitled to leave. It's not some sort of irredeemable sin, since his character is his and he can do what he wants with it. Of course, there will be people who will miss RPing with him, and they are entitled to their opinions as well.
However, they can only persuade him, nothing more. I'm sure the people here are smart enough to rewrite the plot in such a way that fills the gap. There is a reason the edit button exists, after all.
Perhaps it would have been better if the "rules" or the plot had been clearly defined from the start, but let's face it.
RPing with too much rules and RPing with too little rules both have their own shortcomings.
In the end, you either stay or you leave.
I guess I'd leave too if I weren't having fun anymore. And that's perfectly alright.
If I'm making things worse, I am sorry. I just wanted to help remedy the situations.

Don't apologize, Fey ^^ there is nothing wrong with trying to problem-solve.
Maybe we shouldn't beg people to stay though.
If the plot were tightened and the action starts up, then maybe people will come of their own accord, or at least stay.
Well so that you can savor some dark humor Paper, I have no problem being called a push-over, if you don't push me I can't savor my saved effort (hope you get it )

While we fade away from the bustling market where our benevolent giant resides, we spend what seems to be endless hours winding through the unfamiliar cobblestone streets. Slithering through the labyrinth of darkened streets and narrow passages until in this expansive city, we reach a place where the light rarely touches. There, beneath a fickle and flickering lamp, sitting upon her throne that marks her the queen of the underworld with a cunning and seductive smile is none other than I-Am-X. Calmly observing us with a yellowed iris beset upon harrowing black, her fanged grin only grows wider as her fingertip guides the rod that stirs a tall, thin glass of suspicious looking Red Wine. Here in the Dark, we exist temporarily in her Kingdom. A place where the unsavory sorts can find sanctuary, a black market, and often the tools of death, subtlety, and subterfuge.
Sliding her sultry fingertip upon the spine of a book, the tome seems almost alive as it shudders and props open to a blank, but weathered page. Dipping a sharpened fountain pen in ink, she takes her mark upon the leathery parchment after a sip of her Bloodied delicacy. Not a moment later for us, the innocent-minded folks living upon the streets above, she describes to us her next devilish machination.
It's really sad. With all these people leaving/vanishing.
Such great characters and posts. =(
I do hope T.O.N comes back and helps fill the void. D;
