I can't believe there are actually readers who think Light was some sort of "good guy".... That went out the window for me the moment he declared his own family would be offed, if he had to. >:(

Oh no, definetly not a good guy. At one point he crossed the Moral Event Horizon.
And he's been portrayed very well. An exciting egomaniac, psychopath, sociopath, engorsed by self-image of being a god.
I can understand why some see him as good, he was killing off the vermin, but... at one point he crossed the line and he didn't even notice it.
But they can worship the image and ideal of him, and not his actions after he crossed the moral e vent horizon.
