I have a soft spot for the 'noble confidante' role of girls. Muv Luv's Meiya for an other example.

i just love reading stories about relationship between bunch of school brats that talk about love like its the end of the world

Well to be honest... it is quite possible for it to be the end of Toru's world.. in the LITERAL sense. "How dare an Iris Zero date our idol let's kill him" ...is not too far off considering mob mentality. It's also in the figurative sense since as his best friend pointed out "friends" are an extremely valuable commodity to him. If the relationship breaks up the friendships.. yeah he's alone again and he really can't take that path anymore mentally. So yeah sometimes "love" can be the end of the world.

I feel like we are revving up for the ending.

I'm glad Hijiri finally said what had to be said, the other idiotic girls and Harumi just seem to act on impulse. He truly is his best friend.

and Hoshimiya is taking a huge lead now, i think this is the first time Tooru 'opened' up to someone

yep, re-read the series another time and wow I got angry at the others

specially those idiotic girls, why stalker another girl just for having a hunch (ch.38) ... that's creepy af.
and sasamori saying: "no matter how much we're friends ... we can't invade his privacy" ...are you freaking serious?? after hearing all their talk and not stopping them before? and most of all, for being the one that ALWAYS invades his privacy.

after reading this series for a long time and re-reading it ... I think it's the 3rd or 4th, I cannot like Asahi

I would love if Hoshimiya really took the lead, but we all know who is the heroine and four glasses already watch Toru having his main affection being sasamori.

And you would pay anything to go back to those times:)

In the end the problem is that she is unable to understand what he has gone through even if she knows he has been bullied. It's like those people who utter "just be yourself" without even trying to understand that they might as well be asking of the other person to spread wings and start flying.

The worldview of both is simply put, way too different. He understands that, but the problem is that so far she has been judging him under her set of values. From an outsider perspective he's an amazing person, but she fails to realize how broken he is.

Hijiri was savage, but I really understand where he's going, specially since koyuki CONSTANTLY doesn't realize the problem Toru has and is a "all is going to be good" vibe, it's good to be positive, but the need to notice what's happening around them is important.

Spoiler

also does Hoshimiya can said he's awful, she just went and confessed when they practically knew each other, what did she expect from him.

A short chapter...I feel betrayed...like opening some snack's container only to realize that has more air insidd than usual.

I'm on the Starmiya faction.

Maybe but having a tragedy tag in a story even if it happened early on still helps the readers prepare for when the drama unfolds, and the psychological trauma the MC endured as a child is brought up quite frequently in this.

well i'm not sure if "tragedy" is a proper tag but, there's really no proper tag for "MC was physically tortured as a child viciously" so.. yeah tragedy kinda has to do it.

its still only drama tho. and better than the usual forced standard stuff. no real mental or physical losses (sanity, person etc), so tragedy is way too extreme

I'm not sure about that.  If you go back and read ch. 15, starting around page 10, you can see that Sasamori got a pretty thorough explanation of what it is like to be an iris zero.  On the other hand, it would be very much in character for Sasamori to ignore that and plow ahead anyway.

It is interesting that Toru enlisted the help of someone else, though.  He knows what will happen to his exposure rate if two of the most popular girls in the school start competing for his attention.

That last part is bugging me and I also remembered she did the thing for his sake to relieved him from his old self.
Let see which side will settle down this uproar.

Also, really long long release I even forget the current storyline.

I dunno dude, one time the store was out of Sour Skittles and that was a pretty big tragedy. I still remember that day.

It was today ;____;

I'm truly sorry for your loss

another short chapter T_T, that's a tragedy

ok i've read through most of vol 6 7 now, man i forgot most things but reminded me why i liked this series, the MC is awesome, the deductions are always interesting

and seriously, are his friends dense or do they want him to get bullied? Rei understood immediately why and while yeah they share that trait but those guys have been with him for a while now and should know why he avoid 'exposure'

should just wait for school to fcking end but i guess now with Rei on his side there is no way they'll catch him

The main thing that Koyuki doesn't understand is what it means to be an Iris Zero. They have a one in a million chance. So kids in that generation aren't able to comprehend the hardships that they go through, especially Koyuki, who thinks everyone is sunshine and rainbows. Rei has already experienced the hardship, albeit to a smaller extent, so she can empathize based on her own past experiences.

I don't have a clue what's going on in this chapter, they're just playing hide and seek by looking at if someone is in whoever's faction...?  Meh.

Spoiler

Nothing. For some reason some people on this site equate tragedy as "something sad or perhaps even tragic once happened to a character" and that seems to forever mark the story itself as a tragedy. It's a pet peeve of mine on this site that the tragedy tag doesn't mean it ends in tragedy, like you would rationally expect from such a tag. "Drama" just isn't enough, it seems.

It's a tragedy because it updates slowly.

What gave this manga the "Tragedy" tag. What did I miss?
