While I love this manga for it's adorable characters and humor and cute art, I'm wondering if it'll ever take an actual turn into shoujo ai territory with Natsuko and Haruko truly developing and showing feelings for one another. Ah well, if it does, then it does. In the meantime, I'll just enjoy cute girls kissing and being silly.

I keep seeing people say this, but outside of the change in clothes, I don't really see any difference in Fuyumi.

Fuyumi's cute the rest of the time too, so the cute-as-kids claim still stands.

This chapter is too sweet! (literally)

omg they are cute as kids x3

Side couple more cute and yuri than main couple... What's this? Sakura trick?!  But I love both

I want to be "touched" by Sadako too :)

Irony is there is hentai for her

"If we do end up swapping, I feel like there would be something wrong with that"

Talk about a loaded statement.

Love the matching hairstyles between Natsuko and Haruko, also that Natsuko was worried if Haruko would be fine with her and Akiho swapping.

I wonder what went through Haruko's mind during that.

Or have a four-way kiss with Natsuko's mom. for SCIENCE~!

Wait. How do you even do a three way kiss, much less a four way one?

*hands over porn*

if both of them really kissing, they gonna swap or not?

my theory only work for lover pair

If they all kissed at the same time, would they each get a half of the others personality? Lets find out.

They should both try kissing Haruko's mom to see if the swap works with her - you know - for SCIENCE.

Yes Natsuko, stay by her side forever.

Same, I don't know what we're arguing.

I don't think anyone actually said they don't exist, though. Just that a lot tend to have them and that it can be difficult to find one that doesn't.

So I'm not even sure what you're arguing.

Doraemon is also nearly fifty years old and therefore not really the best example of what is standard in current manga.

Just skimmed through, but I don't see one in Banana Fish, Yugo (2004), (its prequel, Yugo, has 1 intermission page in its 22 volumes, can I list that too?), Passport Blue, and Itsumo Misora too. I'm too tired to read any more. Anyway, I'm not talking about current standard, I'm just saying that there are some series without those pages.

Most of them have them but not all. For example, I don't remember any splash page in my Doraemon manga or maybe I just remember it wrong. Almost everything do have some splash pages even if it's very rare.

From my observation, I think it's to preserve the order of pages. So, pages that are on the left side in magazine will stay on the left side and right will stay right.

As someone who spends most their disposable income on manga, I'm hard-pressed coming up with a series that doesn't have a single between-chapter bonus page of some sort somewhere in it.

I own quite a few manga so I can tell you that not all have them. For those that have them, as far as I remember, they're always after the chapter and not before. (i.e. that's chapter 15 splash page, not 16)

Hmm... are you sure? The splash always features the characters the chapter are about. IE: The lead-in to Chapter 15 had Haruko and Natsuko, then this splash is Yume and Satsuki because Chapter 16 feature them quite a bit. Chapter 17 has the lead-in of Haruko and Natsuko again, then Chapter 18 has the feature shot of all the girls on the first page of the chapter again, etc. Following the pattern of 8-page chapters, thats how I see it. Not that it *really* matters, but thats my thought process on it. Good job either way.

Swap has never had full-page splashes. Only half-page ones. Paired with the fact that between-chapter bonus pages nearly always come in sets of two, as a front/back combo, and the previous page is an after-chapter bonus comic, yes, they are both between-chapter pages correctly paired with the preceding chapter, 15.

Also the fact that volume 2 features between-chapter bonus pages just lke that one for all three pairs of characters. Which you should know if you have the raw. And I'd like to see you try to claim the Akiho/Fuyumi page is also meant to be a splash page for the following chapter. When the contents of the image directly relate to the previous two chapters.

Yeah, pretty sure.

A lot of manga seem to have them. I dunno if all manga have them, since I can only attest to the ones I've personally done... I don't actually read manga so my sample pool is pretty small!

But yeah, they are just inbetween chapter spash pages. Henjyo, for example, just uses pages with the Henjyo logo on it. Sui Youbi uses real life pictures for the ones between its chapters.

In general 4koma tend to have the large panel with a 4 panel as the first page of the chapter (he says three chapters after Swap used an 8 panel followed by 4 panel plus large panel to start a chapter).

Printed versions are normally far superior quality. Swap is no different. The kindle digital copy looks like crap. Granted it's not as bad as some, but it's still not worth using over a properly scanned printed version imo. The pages are blurry as hell, are lacking details, and just generally poor quality with all the jpg artefacts.

I wish they would actually improve the quality of digital versions. Just because they are typically read on a small screen doesn't mean they have to be such low quality :(

And FYI that's not the chapter 16 title splash, it belongs with chapter 15.
