Fudge, my friend. Just remember to work WITH your proofreader and most mistakes will be caught before the typesetter gets the final script.
But I agree with you on one thing... Sometimes you never catch some things until you can look at the chapter AFTER it has been typeset. So don't feel too bad about things like that. I'd hate to admit how many times that has happened to me. But the willingness of a group NOT to rush their releases and instead let the team members take a final look at the chapter before its release can help catch those types of errors. A few extra days on a chapter almost always ensures a better quality release!!!
As the TLer there are things that I notice when re-reading a translation on the actual chapter and not in a word doc:
1) Things could have been phrased much better - my fault.
2) Some texts weren't as how I translated - and thus sounds awkward..
3) A bubble is misplaced which is my fault with the formatting i guess.
